Nothing can take away Brown's playoff run last year, but he should have yanked himself out of the game since Mazzulla refused to. That was embarrassing and hard to watch knowing what was coming. Horrific low IQ disaster after another. This team has the feel and look of the 22-23 season.

Yes it was. People better recognize. This kid is a GREAT defender. He reminds me a lot of Tony Allen actually.

And just like Tony Allen, Spring might also end up playing for Memphis.

Spring has more or less 2 weeks to prove he belongs.

Tomorrow, against the Lakers, will be interesting.

I've been calling for Springer to play all season, even if it's 5-10 minutes a game, to bring in that energy and defensive preference. Especially when this team takes a lot of nights off on the defensive end for some reason.

We all saw what happened as soon as Springer entered the game. We went to work on the defensive end. Had 4 steals in his first 10 minutes. He was locking down anyone he guarded. That intensity was contagious and his teammates started to also give some effort on the defensive end.

Just hope Joe continues for play Springer going forward, even if it's only about 6 minutes a half, to get some defense and energy inserted into the team that tends to get lazy at times on both ends of the floor.

Agree on all of this.

So my old dog gets up every night to go to the bathroom and I checked the box score and I was happy Boston won.

I have to ask though why did it take overtime to beat a Clippers G league team?

I expect everybody’s answers by the morning

This kid belongs. The Celtics need to retain him.

VC to Springer and White.

If anyone doesn't vote for Springer, they didn't watch the game. Springer changed the entire game with his defense and energy.
All f'n season I've been calling for Springer to play, even if it's 5 minutes per half for his defensive intensity. All freaking season I've been calling for Coach Joe to play him. Finally for the first time, he plays Springer in a meaningful game.

If Springer didn't play, we would have lost by about 10. If Kornet and Brown didn't play in the 4th quarter an OT, we would have won by over 10. Brown and Kornet were terrible.Whoever Brown guarded, they scored on him almost every time. I'm not even going to talk about his big turn over that nearly cost of the game.

Queta played well. I would have liked us to have played Tillman, but I'm happy Springer finally got a chance meaningful and extended minutes.

And yet Kornet was +18 on the night, while Queta was -14.

Súper happy for springer. That had to be worth at least $4-5 M in cap hit. Just do that a few more times and put those trade rumors to bed.

Just need real opportunities and reps.

No one on this entire message board will agree with this more than me. Not saying to play everyone. But going outside of our top 8-9 would help both short term and long term so much.

Since I can’t agree more, I’ll agree equally as much - but probably won’t repeat it as much. :D

Jordan has earned minutes multiple times, and Jaden just did so in dramatic fashion. Both clog up the spacing a little on offense, but would learn to do better / more with reps. Their energy and D is sorely needed for a team in the doldrums and letting them provide it would benefit everyone.

I really don’t think we need a trade, just play those guys more consistently.

Yeah, if Joe can use him then he deserves a shot at becoming a part of the rotation.

The next 2 weeks will settle this matter.

Only if Joe would play him some more
Maxey, Curry or any scrub that has the game of his life against us

On another note - JT and for some extent JB are facing this kind of defense every game. Any player who faces them is giving 200% on defense. Watching them get the numbers they get against this kind of defense is amazing

Seriously, there are GMs dumb enough to give us a great package for that total moron JB.
DO IT!

He has very very real skills.
He just cannot dribble, cannot make clutch FTs, & is a TOV MACHINE WITH THE IQ OF A RABID SQUIRREL.
So glad you aren't the GM.

Jaylen is without a doubt one of the dumbest players in NBA history. Jaden was great! Lockdown defense and grats for making your first 3 this year!

He will lol. In fairness though no guard on the Lakers he’s needed for defensively though either.

We could throw him at LeBron for a bit. He handles the ball about as much as anyone on their team. And with Springer's athleticism and strength, he can guard guys with a bit more size.

Or throw him at Reaves, who has given us problems in the past..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I don't see why not. Although I've not been a big Springer guy until last night, you either are developing another weapon to possibly get you a stop in the playoffs or you're showcasing a player you've reportedly had trouble getting much trade value for. Especially on a west coast b2b you could stand to extend the rotation a little anyways.
