Because it was Luke **** Kornet on the action. If it’s Walsh or Springer on there they can hold the guy another second before fouling. We saw one possession earlier that Kornet can’t do that when he let Sengun walk into the paint.
This team loses the coaching battle EVERY SINGLE **** GAME. It’s embarrassing.
What’s the point of double bigs with 5 seconds left? The rockets only played with 1 big on the court all game. They have fast athletic players, is slow Kornet really needed. Mazzulla had been horrible this year.
He has been horrible his entire career. Don’t let a run with OVERWHELMING amount of talent fool you. Boston was 3x more talented than anybody else last year.
Any team in the NBA would go small and switch everything with four seconds left. The bum left a target out there and Houston got him twice. This is the same coach that went double big and had old man Horford get ran through by LeBron..for what? Nothing.
Garbage.
Yeah, both me and the guy at the bar I was watching the game at were just confused at the same time why Kornet was out there again, especially after he apparently injured or strained whatever in his abdominal.
Really bad late game management by Mazzulla. He’s just so unbelievably stubborn sometimes. Hard sticking to his rotation when the team needs some sort of jolt just doesn’t make sense.
Obviously they were much more locked in last year as a group, but they may have been lucky to draw the cards they got in the playoffs. Mazzulla was a disaster his first year here, especially in the playoffs. Got better during last years run but right now it looks like he’s still that rookie coach. Very poor at in game management and adjustments still. Too stubborn for his own good.
