The 4th episode was really good too. The arrival of Larry Bird. It covers 1979-1983. Bird was amazing from his rookie season. Turned the team around his first training camp, months before his rookie season started.

Yeah, I learned that a team with Larry Bird got swept in a playoff series, something a team with Jayson Tatum has yet to do.

I didn't know that team essentially mutinied against Coach fitch. Makes sense why Larry's the only one who stuck up for him as he was kinda brought up in a hard nosed environment. They did a good job showing the celts sixers rivalry at its peak too

Bird injured his hand and missed a game or 2 in that series, which was not covered in the documentary. Also the team quit of Bill Fitch because most of the team (not Bird) wanted Fitch fired.

I didn't know Hangin Tough by New Kids on the Block was supposed to be the Celtics theme song lol. My little sister used to play that ish 24/7 and I probably still know the words.

Also, Cedric Maxwell attacking a Sixers fan was pretty cool. Didn't get ejected or anything, and it spurred the C's to a win.

In fairness, Nelson outcoached Fitch in that series and Sidney Montcrief was unbelievable at both ends.
The HBO series brings back so many memories, not all of them good. I still hate Andrew Toney.

Surprised this is on the second page; episode five was so nostalgic, yet brought back painful memories in the last minutes.

Episode 5 needs to be bookmarked on the Larry trash talking era. Those stories never get old.

Clearly episode 6 is going to go into dark times.

Hopefully the crews are still rolling so they can append an extra episode at the end of this next banner.

I am currently halfway through episode 4, I agree with those who want more Robert Parish interviews, he is so unexpectedly hilarious and charming !

Finally watched all 5 episodes, including the last 3 in a row today.

Extraordinary compelling viewing but the next couple of episodes will be very rough, I started following the Celtics in 1992 here in Australia (mostly cause of the wonder of the Dream Team and NBA making a massive splash in Australia and Larry Legend was my favourite player on that iconic team)

I still remember crying when I found out Reggie Lewis passed away, it hurt so much then and it still hurts thinking about Reggie all these years later.

The rest of the decade sucked too (although Antoine Walker gave us some false hope) until we drafted The Truth.

Losing the 1997 Duncan Lottery also crushed me as well as watching the Lakers with Shaq and Kobe e peat in the 00s. Those were such dark painful times that I hate to remember. Also **** Rick Pitino lol

I am forever grateful to have lived through those lean years, just makes the 08 and 24 Chips taste all the sweeter and more appreciative tbh.

I still can't believe they didn't talk to Mike Gorman about the 80s or even 70s Celtics. He's one of the very few remaining living legends of this franchise even though he never played for the team.

Second best thing I've seen all year. The best was Shogun.

Halfway through another excellent episode (6) what a bum Bill Laimbeer was as a player. And some really good interviews with Parish (again) and Larry Legend and Isiah Thomas. This is a quality series that should win awards

It's a great show if all you care about is how racist Boston is.

It's a horrible show if you're looking for anything with real depth.

They skim over championships as if they can't be bothered to detail them all.
