Celtics w/ KP: 20-12 (62.5%)
Celtics w/o KP: 26-6 (81.25%)

KP has now missed half this season's games. We still don't appreciate Al Horford enough imo.

I think Al gets into a rhythm with KP out in consecutive games, but lets notvget ahead of ourselves here. We need Kp if we want to repeat. We need him definitely against the Cavs playing against Mobley and Allen. Also be that towering force in the middle to bother shots. Plus, horford will have games that his age will show up. We can’t have him play high mins in stretches.

Al and JB for me. These are the games we need Brown for. He still makes mistakes, etc, but dude raises his level and is strong enough to compete against anyone. Tatum too, obviously, but you need more than one.

Also, anyone wanna go in on some sort of ultra+recurring beer subscription for Luka? Dude hobbling around out there getting 34, 8 and 3 on his last few breaths. I got no need to see him in shape in purple and gold.

Great game by Brown, who took charge in the fourth. He couldn’t do that when he was younger.

For all the praise our defense got from the announcing crew, I think the Lakers just sucked in the 3rd. Vanderbilt gave us so many gifts.

Sadly, we haven’t had KP long enough to really know if we’re indeed better with him in high leverage situations. It’s mostly theoretical. Meanwhile, we went on a title run with him missing much of it and this current starting five without him has killed opposition. We do need him so Al doesn’t have to play these many minutes. High level of play for sustained minutes from him at this age is unrealistic.

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/celtics-vs-lakers-jayson-tatum-jaylen-brown-show-nbas-hottest-new-duo-that-title-still-runs-through-boston/

This was the 29th time that Tatum and Brown have each scored 30-plus points in a game, which is the fourth-most by any duo since the NBA/ABA merger. Only Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook (34), Alex English and Kiki VanDeWeghe (33) and Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal (33) have done so more often.

Lol. We just won the nba finals with KP having a great game on game 1. That set the tone for the series. Tons of mismatches with him inside. We also need his rim protection. We don’t have any rim protection other than KP. We need Al to defend against Lebron or a giannis, but we need KP against bigger faster bigs like mobley and Allen. We need both to repeat. One analyst just said that the Celtics took advantage of all the Al mismatches inside, but he also said, that imagine if Porzingis was inside. He’s bigger than anybody the lakers has. My problem with KP at times is he falls in love too much with the 3ball. He can basically score inside everytime. Also, he can matchup better against Chet if we do face them in the finals.

Most of what you said is theoretical in the playoffs. He's had one really good quarter. That's it. I'm not saying I'd rather not have him. I'm saying we really haven't seen it work yet for an extended period of time. Not his fault. He didn't ask to be made out of glass.

Idk how I could appreciate him more without naming my son after him....Actually you're right. Legally changing his name tomorrow.

JJ Redick on Al Horford:

“We wanted to attack their bigs in space. We wanted to attack their smalls in tight spaces. I don’t think we did a good enough job of attacking their smalls in tight spaces… frankly, Al Horford’s awesome still. He still moves his feet and does a really good job defensively.”

Great game. Playoff atmosphere. ( I think…I wasn’t there)
Al look so quick and spry. Just amazing.
Keep him healthy and rested Joe.
Great to see Holiday back.
Though the Celtics have been fine without him, we need Zinger back and ready for the playoffs.

Okay, my daughter too.. But I draw the line at my cat. In all seriousness, he definitely gets lost in the shuffle. We have so many key guys on this stacked team. Horford is obviously a role player at this stage of his career, but he might be one of the most important role players on a championship team of all time. Thank the heavens he is so reliable and durable.

Yeah, they are basically the Los Angeles Mavericks with LeBron instead of Kyrie. They've already got Finney-Smith and Maxi Kleber is on the mend.
