White/baylor/hawkins
Murphy3/hauser/walsh

Kessler/kornet/queta

Free about 20 million in capspace. Sexton and collins are expiring.

Have pick number 7

This is an awful lineup. Worse that Utah's

Would Kornet stay for the minimum?
Why keep Hauser at all?

Main reason why JB will be traded is the new CBA will be harsh on a team with 2 supermax guys.

The new model for the ideal championship contender is having 1 supermax guy, 1 all-star caliber player, and a competent supporting cast.

OKC is already doing it.

This is a much better team than the Utah one. I hate Bam on the Heat but would love him here

But will the Spurs give up the #2 and Vassell?

Maybe #2 and Keldon Johnson for JB.

No one will take JB's pathetic contract.

Spurs are in a position to go for a KD or Giannis at this point.

Giannis makes no sense
And KD is ooolllddd.

Brown makes more sense for their fit overall.

Brown/fox/wemby is a better fit.

Also, Milwaukee has NO picks for the forseeable future....all gone.

So the only deal that makes sense to them is one that brings youth and a massive load of picks now and future. I dont think that SAS can do that.

Brooklyn can, OKC can.

Make a small deal to drop salary (Hasuer and a pick for nothing)

Then trade Brown and KP to bucks for Giannis and a re-signed Lopez?

It is much tougher to dump a big salary with the new CBA. Only NJ has enough cap space...

Some options:
1. Since there are no big FAs this offseason NJ might be interested in taking on Porzingis into cap space (with some sweetener) and go after FAs next offeason when Porzingis expires... I doubt there are many teams interested in trading for KP. At least he only has one more year remaining, so he will be off the books next season.

2. Giving Jrue that extension is proving to be a rare Brad mistake. One reason was lowering his first year salary, so that was a goal that was achieved but it will be tough to move this contract now. Who are the teams that need a PG and are looking to contend? And love defensive players?
Give Harrison a call: Jrue to DAL for Gafford, Marshall, Hardy and Prosper works. We break Jrue contract into 4 smaller ones, which are easier to trade and can move players into trade exceptions.

3. Trading JB to Brooklyn for Cam Johnson + picks? Or to HOU for Brooks, Smith, Eason + picks? Or to SA for 2nd pick + Johnson + Barnes?

Big summer for Brad coming up...

If Brown has a surgery, he ain't going nowhere. I would call the Warriors to see if they wanna do S&T Jrue + whatever for Kuminga.
Also, high end, young talent barely works on championship caliber teams. Think about it- how many picks did the Warriors have? We need players that can perform straight away. To me Baylor could be a rotation player next year, even if the C's weren't/aren't injured.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

OKC should have the best package for Giannis. I think we'd have it, too... 3 FRPs/pick swap/ Brown... They can trade Brown for more picks.

KP and a pick to Brookly
Brown and Claxton to Miami
Bam and Wiggins to Boston

Jrue/Pritchard/???
White/Baylor/???
Wiggins/Hauser/Walsh
??????/Horford/
Bam/Kornet/Queta

Trade creates 18.5 million in payroll savings next season (TPE) can maybe be used to pick up a starting PF if Tatum misses the season.

Random thought - the Wolves could really use Jrue - any probable trades on that front?
