Celts lost. Fair and square. Sometimes it just isn't your year. Celts were too hobbled. Knicks were the healthier team and more fortunate/desperate team.

The problem was that the Celtics lost. It was in their grasp and they blew it. 1 possession game with enough time to win and not getting a shot. That was it
NY didn't win (ok, won 1 game) but the Celtics beat themselves

We win both games 1 and 2 had someone stopped Bridges, who was cooking in big moments, and Brunson, who is hard to stop but not impossible to bother if you don’t let him get 5 straight easy ones and then try to stop the train. They just kept roasting us in tough spots and no one says anything about it. Go look at the game again. Toasted every time they touched it and the defender looked like they were defending for the first time in their lives!! Just easy bake oven out there.

Our shot selection was terrible at times, no doubt, but when you’re up 20, all you needed was some stops!!

Lack of late game execution is the reason the Celtics lost the series. Mazzulla has a clear deficiency in drawing up clutch-time plays and tries to hide it by continuously having his players "play on".

There's several examples now in losses, including the Knicks series, where Boston had multiple timeouts left at the end of regulation. Add in Joe's insistence on never adjusting the offense from being trigger happy from 3 and the blame belongs squarely on the coach.

Win just one of the first two blown games at home and you're talking about a very likely series win along with Tatum never getting injured. Alas, it is what it is now though, Brad is clearly sticking with Joe for another year. I'd imagine next season will be his final evaluation.

Most disappointing season since 2009. Fatigue from long playoff run plus olympics for some plus Joe not developing his bench enough hurt us— I doubt Tatum gets injured but for that - and of course injuries and porzingis’s stupid virus. Just so frustrating and disappointing. Even if healthy, this team lost its mojo. All of those home losses in the regular season were a sign that this team wasn’t mentally sharp enough. I blame Joe for some of that but tatum snd brown reverted to iso, non team ball so that’s on them. Brad has responsibility as well. Finally our refusal to change our style of play when it wasn’t working hurt us. Again Joe’s stubbornness and unwillingness to get in guys faces when it was needed hurt us

ALL VERY TRUE. But as much as some D would have helped, the offensive sets in Q4 were putrid.
