People are overreacting. I can think of worse losses in playoff games when the Celtics went on to win the series, most recently the 38 point loss to Dallas in 2024. In 1969 they lost to the Lakers by 35. Sometimes the other team brings its "A" game and you don't.

Rockets too big, too good. Cs too small, too tired.

Boucher couldn't have been tired from all those minutes he's been playing.

I'm going to rewatch to take a closer look at Boucher's play. Minott was good imo. Was very happy to see more screen setting and above the break actions on offense. Don't want him shooting 6 3's in a game really, but, when there is little off-ball action to open up passing lanes, he took them responsibly. But you see him able to help swing the ball at times and find the rare paint touch and kick opportunity.

Scheierman's shots went down so he looked better of course. He's been playing solid defense in the difficult role they're putting him. He came into the league with decent (for a wing) rebounding skillset. I want to see some attempt to get him downhill with screens at times to drive and kick.

Was very happy Walsh got in there to battle on the boards and low post defensively. He got his 4 rebounds in his first 10 minutes then shut out the last 7 minutes out there. But this is the muscle memory that he should (imo) take with him when he's playing at Maine. Minott and Walsh have slim lanes to carve out steady NBA roles. Minott's touch above athletically seems to be keeping him competitive on the glass. I've seen glimpses of it with Walsh at times and I still think that should be his focus while still working on his shot. He too was liberally setting screens. He's not going to leap Minott for the role here so I'm not banging the drum to keep Walsh. But I also don't think it's impossible that he's someone else's Minott (or Brissett if it's easier to swallow that) in time.

I’m still on the Walsh wagon, but it’ll take some moves to clear regular PT. Hauser or Simons most likely. Probably both if you count JT. He’s probably not quite good enough yet to do that, though. He’ll still get some time with injuries/ rest and only 13 guys,

By next season, I’d love to get bigger and only have 2 of White, Simons, PP and out JB back at 2, run 3 of Hauser, Minott, Hugo, Walsh then JT, Queta and 2 more higher end tall guys than we have.

Keep the 4th wing, Baylor, Garza as depth and a 3rd string vet min PG.

Walsh is terrible. Had he not come out early he would be a senior in college this year. Would he even be in the first round of the draft if that were the case?

I wish the game was more competitive but lots of good development minutes for our guys last night. I'm basically content with a season mostly filled with losses as long as we accelerate development of (or cut bait on) the bottom 2/3 of the roster. If we pivot to a full tank at some point, that would be fine with me. Although that probably requires JB or DW to miss extended time.

Tough to translate g-league stats to what he'd do in college. Probably would have been better for him to have stayed and get the reps against lesser players, but his rookie year reg season G-league numbers per 36: 17.8 pts, 9 rebs, 36% from 3 over 27 games. After an equivalent year as a sophomore with his measurements he would have been drafted. Where, who knows?

Theres alot of flaws with the team

I like hugo but and queeta

Id look to trade Pritchard while he has value , cause i would not want to extend him next year to what hed want

Same for simons but id bet he comes cheaper than pritchards next contract and hes more talented

I dont know what cs need but maybe a starting caliber pg to pair with brown and tatum for starters

Pritchard even not making 3pt shots is a positive player this year. He's the least of our issues, especially given most of our issues are financial and PP at $8million is the most bang for the buck on the roster

A positive development is that we are starting to see signs of life from Baylor Scheierman, and this would be huge, if we can harness his feel and passing and rebounding and get real minutes out him!! Amari Williams looked good last night, I am ready to move into the Amari Williams era, lol!!!!!

I wouldn't really dwell too much on this loss.

The Cs were on the 2nd night of a b2b.

And the Rockets were just bigger and stronger.

Worry about the east, not the west.
