OT: Huge game from Al Jefferson

I was watching a little bit of the Wolves game last Friday night. Al seemed to be looking better (than earlier in the season) in terms of recognizing double teams and passing out of the post.

McHale and Jefferson has been working together like crazy. Kevin always has had a ton of praise for AL. I think he is in love actually.

I don't know if I would go that far, considering that a guy like Duncan doesn't need to try and score 40 points for the Spurs to win. However, watching the T-Wolves play the last few games (mainly because they've been playing when the Celtics aren't), I will say that he's among the top tier of lowpost scorers in the league. This is where just looking at scoring and rebounding numbers to judge a big is flawed. When you look at those numbers alone, you may think Al is better than KG, but we all know that's not the case.

Yea, but the thing is I'm talking about being a low post scorer. I wasn't referring to his low post offense as a whole which includes his ability to make other players better and not just looking for his shot. In that regard Duncan is clearly a better player than Al.

I'm just talking about his ability to score on another player in the low post, which I think he's probably the best in the league at right now if nto defintely top 3.

And you guys, who compared Al to Zach should really get a clue.
1) Al is more athletic than Zach.
2) Al actually jumps and blocks shots.
3) Al has a much wider arsenal of post moves than Zach.
4) Al has better footwork.
5) Al is average on D, Zach is horrible.
6) Their attitudes and work ethnic aren't even comparable.

I know. That's why I wrote that long post to state my position and explain what I'm saying. However, in terms of just pure lowpost scoring moves/ability, I agree that he's definitely up there among the best. I think I mentioned that in the earlier post too...

I have not seen much of a guy taking a whole team on his back and riding to victory. We got clutch shots from Rashad McCants and Ryan Gomes too but Al Jefferson was a monster. Not to mention he hit all 4 FT's at the end.

Was/am a big, Big Al fan. Only issue I had with him, and still do, from a scoring standpoint is an inability or reluctance to draw contact. Big night in that regard tonight, but overall for the season, still averaging a smidge over 5 on over 17 FGAs.

he is getting better at drawing the fouls, and the refs are rewarding him.

If he gets his D up to scratch, he will really deliver on his promise.

Big AL is a Freaking monster. But to be fair Big AL killed Jersey last year as well.

Yup. Another monster game by Big Al. Does the end of KG's contract coincide with Big Al's? Big Al would be a very nice replacement for KG in about 4 years. He'd be a full-grown monster by then.

I still remember Shira Springer teasing me that we were keeping Big Al. That would have been insane. KG,P2 and Big Al. Holy moly!!!

does the name Tim Duncan ring a bell?? if he was just going out there for stats like Al hed average the same if not more.
