We just need ONE MORE member of our fan club and then we can start assigning roles.

I mean, Buckners has dibs on Burgundy.
And I love lamp:)

I’m your huckleberry. At this point I’d rather see Tacko play over TT and Theis.

Welcome aboard!

I leave it to you and playa-hater to figure out who's Paul Rudd and who's David Koechner. Or heck, maybe we should all be fighting over who's Fred Willard.

Still early but I am concerned about how his release seems to be kind of slow. Is anyone else noticing that or am I just seeing things?

One of the slowest releases I’ve ever seen for a purported sniper.

One of the slowest releases I’ve ever seen for a purported sniper.

Was kinda worried about that coming in; seems like his shot requires a lot of preparation and concentration, whereas other snipers just let it rip... I don’t think it’s necessarily hurt his ability to get his shot off so far, but it feels like there are more variables to his shot than I’d like.

When he's spotting up I'm noticing the load time as well. I see it less in the few times I've seen him come off curls and it actually looks like a better shot. These are the kinds of things a veteran shooter would point out to him if they were on the team. This is certainly the type of thing that would get fleshed out during an offseason training or perhaps with more available practice. We will have virtually no practices in the month of February as we're playing like 16 games I think.

The stroke is incredibly smooth, but that load time is a concern. It's easier to fix than a hitch in the shot or bad release point though. And I think you're right that off screens/curls he's got a better/quicker release. When he's camped out it's like he's shooting in a gym and he's going to end up rushing things when he's closed out on.

He's gotta get whoever Duncan Robinson's shooting coach is. With Aaron's stroke if he can drop out that "cocking" motion when he initially receives the pass, he'll be a true sharpshooter. It's just about where his hands are when he's catching the ball and then going straight up with it as opposed to essentially resetting.

Ugh,

The reason this hurts particularly bad is that Bane is exactly who we would/should have taken in that spot. It's not even a woulda/shoulda it's that we quite literally traded him for basically nothing. I'm not a Danny hater, but that's one I've been particularly disgusted with since inception. Painful to know all of Javonte's minutes could be Bane's.

Javonte's? We could have cut Edwards, Waters or Taco instead. At least Bane is producing.

What? I'm saying I'd much rather Bane than any of those guys. And yeah Javonte's minutes, none of the others get any (and 2 are two-way guys. I'd keep Edwards over Green.

If Bane mirrors his play here he would have been the best player on the bench. He’s a lock for solid defense and 2/3 threes a night. I think he’s still over 50%. It just amazing that Danny has traded out of the late first two years in a row and that player taken with the pick has been more productive than any of the players he’s taken. Not sure why he doesn’t get more heat for this.

I hate to mention this again, but feel qualified more than most because I have spent 22+ years as a shooting coach. I know that doesn't mean 2 cents on here. But from what I see on Nesmith's shooting is far more mental (confidence, flow, comfort etc) than anything mechanical. Poor mental state can lead to slowing or rushing a shot.

He will be fine with more in game reps. I truly believe that. I also wanted Bane for similar reasons.

I'd be more concerned with Romeo as he has never shown strong catch and shoot abilities in HS/College or the NBA as of yet. Not that he can't improve anything as well. Just think it may take him longer.

On the discussion of shooting, I do believe Grant Williams has very good mechanics. His problems are all mental. Not all players are mentally strong with shooting. sometimes mentality/confidence can get worse. If a year from now Nesmith is still shooting the same, I would be worried.
