One of the slowest releases I’ve ever seen for a purported sniper.
Was kinda worried about that coming in; seems like his shot requires a lot of preparation and concentration, whereas other snipers just let it rip... I don’t think it’s necessarily hurt his ability to get his shot off so far, but it feels like there are more variables to his shot than I’d like.
When he's spotting up I'm noticing the load time as well. I see it less in the few times I've seen him come off curls and it actually looks like a better shot. These are the kinds of things a veteran shooter would point out to him if they were on the team. This is certainly the type of thing that would get fleshed out during an offseason training or perhaps with more available practice. We will have virtually no practices in the month of February as we're playing like 16 games I think.
The stroke is incredibly smooth, but that load time is a concern. It's easier to fix than a hitch in the shot or bad release point though. And I think you're right that off screens/curls he's got a better/quicker release. When he's camped out it's like he's shooting in a gym and he's going to end up rushing things when he's closed out on.
He's gotta get whoever Duncan Robinson's shooting coach is. With Aaron's stroke if he can drop out that "cocking" motion when he initially receives the pass, he'll be a true sharpshooter. It's just about where his hands are when he's catching the ball and then going straight up with it as opposed to essentially resetting.

Ugh,
The reason this hurts particularly bad is that Bane is exactly who we would/should have taken in that spot. It's not even a woulda/shoulda it's that we quite literally traded him for basically nothing. I'm not a Danny hater, but that's one I've been particularly disgusted with since inception. Painful to know all of Javonte's minutes could be Bane's.
