In which case they’d still want nothing to do with Horford

yeah I'm sure Knicks fans -- and maybe some of their management -- are planning "Mitch Robinson + picks + Fournier = Embiid", they're not moving him for a couple very late firsts

I watched the Knicks feed of the game last night and the announcers were all excited about Robinson, saying that Coach T and the organization consider him to be the most important player on the team for what coach wants to do. Seems like a lot of hyperbole.

What are we, about $1.5M under the 2nd Apron?
IDK, but it's looking like we have to let Kornet go, before Opening Day?

Most of the Backups are around a $2M or less hit to the Salary Cap.
Adding Gabriel and Stevens would fit under it, right?

We went over the 2nd apron, by making the trade for Jrue Holiday.

I'd say it's highly unlikely that we let go of Kornet. We need the depth at center. Plus, (compared to Queta, Gabriel or any FA big we could sign) he has a good amount of NBA experience and comfort/familiarity with the systems and schemes that the Celtics run.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Some places show us as being Under the 2nd Apron. Looking like we can Add another Vet minimum?

We currently have 10 players on guaranteed contracts. The minimum number of guys we can carry during the regular season is 14 players. My understanding (and Keith Smith's tweet above supports this) is that even if we only carry 14 guys, and the remaining 4 guys we have fill out the roster are on veteran's minimum contracts, we'd be over the 2nd apron.

Good work, looking that up.

No worries. There's this too:

So, we've got 10 guys on guaranteed contracts. I assume we will go with the full 15 man roster. The last 5 spots will all be guys on minimum contracts - they'll probably be Svi, Banton, Kornet, Gabriel and Stevens. But there's a chance we could sign some other guy to a minimum contract and cut 1 of those guys.

Those 2nd apron limitations sound overemphasized. That taxpayer MLE is so small as to be nearly useless, buyouts are overhyped, and the non tax MLE is high enough decent guts could still be available.

Wonder if we should have matched Grant Williams offer if we're over the apron anyway. All the minimum contract guys we replaced him with to tiptoe under the apron are the same guys we'd get if we were over the apron.

Sweet, the NTMLE is $12.4 M this season, so the Celts can add everyone from Theis to Muscala this season, if they are bought out.

Other Possible Buy Out Additions:

- Marvin Bagley
- Alec Burks
- Kevin Love
- Chris Boucher
- Jeff Green
- Danillo Gallinari

He could be traded, but very unlikely to be bought out.

Is it mental health? is it immaturity? is it drugs.. Some sort of combination??

Looking strictly at his talent he would be an upside project.. But I just can't see stevens doing anything like that..

But I also believe in saying never say never.. Also In second chances when warranted..
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Aaron Holiday seems like a logical midseason acquisition. Can really shoot, and we'd have a foot through the door because we've already got his brother.
