I did think it was possible that we'd route Koufos to a 3rd team, but the word 'hurdles' makes me think that the meat has essentially been agreed to as a 2 team trade.

I'd guess Slart has it right, and it's probably not a coincidence that Jameer and buyout have been in the news for the first time since the Rondo trade.

Wonder if Ainge is being greedy and wants more than Adams/filler?

According to Zach Lowe, MEM was essentially willing to move Koufos for Green with Koufos going to a 3rd team.

We don't have space to do a Green for Prince and Adams move and Ainge probably doesn't want to have to cut anyone if he can find a home for them in trade.

This is usually what it is a roster spot.

I'm going to guess that this is a Green for Prince + 1st + 800k salary guy so that Grizz stay below the threshold and, as suggested, they are haggling with Nelson on buyout.

If Jameer Nelson gets bought of his contract, he could end up in a Wizards uniform. Nelson was part of the deal for Rondo that sent him from Dallas to Boston. The Wizards will be in hot pursuit because he's experienced and the type of combo guard they covet most for the open roster spot. This is the most likely of all the scenarios. Nelson is expected to negotiate a buyout. He would be on a pro-rated salary which would be a minimal cost to the Wizards, he'd come off the books after the season and it allows the veteran a chance to go deep into the playoffs for the first time in a while. And the playing time is there behind Beal (see item No. 1 on Allen). He simply has to be on the Wizards' roster by March 1, the deadline to be eligible for the postseason, and want to come here. I'd say Crowder gets the call. Another possibility would be to just start Turner there and have Marcus Smart come as the starting PG.
