Re: 2019 NBA draft
My target right now and someone I am anxious to watch in March Madness is Coby White. He is the fast, aggressive, high volume type scoring guard who is really excelling in the NBA these days.
He's got a great burst, solid handles and athleticism. Operates well with either hand. He shoots and makes a high volume of FTs. This guy is gonna be a really good pro IMO.
UNC actually has another sleeper in Camerson Johnson. Similar to Kuzma. I mention him because he's taking a lot of shots, so White's numbers could even be higher. White is a Trae Young/Buddy Hield level scorer IMO. He's got the Harden step back too.
Anybody else seeing this?

Coby White is definitely a player of interest to me. I'm not ready to call him a Trae Young/buddy Hield level scorer, but he's certainly intriguing. I could see him develop into a bench scorer on a good team.
The other guy that people are sleeping on in this draft is Bol Bol. The foot issues will scare off a bunch of teams, but if you're Boston and have 3 first round picks (pretty likely), then using 1 on Bol is the swing for the fences that Danny needs. This kid was tearing it up at Oregon before getting injured.
you can't teach 7'2. Bol is skinny as can be, but he impacts the game defensively with his length. He blocks shots. Most importantly he stretches the floor well, he can handle the rock, and he can score in the post. He fits the modern big mold. I'd draft him even if it meant he sits out next season. Get him healthy, get him strong and you could have yourself an absolute steal for a handful of years. will he be durable? probably not, but I could see him have a really solid 5-7 year stretch early in his career.

Never saw Coby White until now, but yeah his ability to create space with that stepback is lethal, at least from watching 2 minutes of his highlights from the Clemson game. All I want in my shooting guard is to be able to launch 15 threes a game, he looks perfect and his shot looks wet.
Tyler Herro looks interesting too as that kind of guy who just rips threes all game.

Re: 2019 NBA draft
What do you guys think about Darius Garland ? Sorry I haven't read the whole thread so maybe you already give your opinions on him.
The injury was terrible but I feel like he could fall to us mid-first round because of it. He sure has some weaknesses (turnovers, very thin player) but he could be a nice back-up.

There's no way he falls to us. He is the best PG in this class (imo) and there's little chance he falls out of the 7 first picks, specially with Orlando and Phoneix picking.
Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

Tend to agree with this. I was big on Garland to start the year but there’s no way he slips out of the early lotto.
If the Celtics somehow keep all the picks out of an AD trade, I’d look to package picks to move up. 14/18/23 may get you into the 7-8 range for a guy like Garland or Bol

Re: 2019 NBA draft
If we end up keeping the picks it means no AD which means we still have Smart, Brown, Tatum, Semi, Hayward on the roster and will likely keep one of Rozier / Irving. DRAFT SOME BIG MEN. Any guard or wing would have an incredibly tough time cracking the rotation and would just rot on the bench. Would love to roll the dice on Bol Bol with the Kings pick. Doumbouya is interesting too.

Re: 2019 NBA draft
You can role the dice on Bol if we have a high pick, though I'm concerned because some of his weaknesses will take him out of games based on how bad they are in this era.
Burno Fernando should be a lock for us. If he's available with our first, we take him.
At that point, go with a combination with of Doumbouya, Clarke, Tre Jones and White.
(I'm assuming none of Little, Hunter, Garland, Culver, Hayes are available when the SAC pick is up).
