With Green looking like a Goner, Our starting lineup would look like.

Smart, Turner, Pressey, Nelson.
Bradley, Young, Thorton
Wallace, Jae Crowder
KO, Sully, Bass
Zeller

Not bad. Nelson needs to be Bought out & Pressey Waived. Bass Traded

I'd say Crowder gets the call. Another possibility would be to just start Turner there and have Marcus Smart come as the starting PG.

Option number two is what I'm hoping for. If Brad wants to continue to start ET and have him handle the ball, fine. Just slide him to the three and insert Smart at the PG. I wouldn't complain about the extra boost of energy smart would bring to the starting five. Leave Crowder on the bench for the second unit's energy guy.

With Crowder being advertised as a long term piece, I would think/hope he'd be given the PT to make his case. Starting or not, he should see a big increase in minutes.

Likelihood this deal happens? And likelihood we can get a 1st round pick out of it?

They are not likely to be able to offer a 1st round pick until 2019, as the pick they now owe Denver (via Cavs) is top 5 and 15-20 protected in 2015 and 2016, top 5 protected in 2017 and 2018 and unprotected in 2019. Most likely, it gets conveyed in 2017.

Problem with that could be that you might only be able to trade 1st rounders 5 drafts in advance. I know that this used to be the case with the last CBA, and is probably still the case now. It was/probably is a major reason why many protected 1st rounders become multiple 2nd rounders "if not conveyed by" a particular draft (i.e. the 5th one).

If true... it means that we likely only get one shot at that 1st rounder before it becomes 2nd rounders. Should Memphis remain a playoff team next season before falling to a bottom 5 team in 2016-17, we don't get a 1st. If Memphis offers us a likely 2019 with protections and then fall within them in 2019, we don't get a 1st.

I suspect a major hurdle here is the Celts trying to get Jordan Adams as opposed to a future pick.

Im guessing it gets done without a pick. I think we have a better chance of getting Adams then the pick

Can't speak to the likelihood of it, but Stein says the Grizzlies are offering Prince + a future 1st rounder. They can't offer a 1st rounder until 2021 though I believe due to the protection on the pick they owe DEN (via CLE in the Mozgov trade).

You can offer a pick "to be conveyed two years after" an existing trade pick is conveyed.

In this case, it would very likely be a 2019, but maybe not at all (see post above).

Do not believe they can trade 1st rounders past 2019.

Haha, sorry. He's one of my favorite players though. Has to be one of the most likable players in the league. I hope Danny is the first to max him this summer, and dare the Bulls to keep their word on maxing.

It's 7 years ,not 5 - so that's not the hurdle IMO. Larry Coon' FAQ http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q87

Maybe, and I definitely do that, or even with minimal protection (top 3-5).

Doesn't solve the problem completely, though, as we probably do not get the pick if Memphis is playoffs in 2015-16 and bottom 5 in 2016-17. That's unlikely, but still possible.

The time limit on picks appears to be 7 years and the Grizz pick should be available in '19 which sucks on its own.
