Yeah, I think only Zion makes it a close call for New York and Boston.. but Barrett or Morant could be close - Ntilikina, Barrett, Knox and a couple of future 1sts isn't bad.

How confident are you of this really? Taking off the green goggles what are your true feelings? I’d love to believe it but I’m just not seeing it right now.
I think we have an 86% chance to land AD.
Ok so as long as the Knicks don’t get the number 1 pick we are golden. We’ll see. I hope so.

1) Knicks get the #1 pick (at best 14% probability)
2) NO waits till next season and accepts Knicks offer;
3) Durant signs with the Knicks;
4) Kyrie signs with the Knicks.
So, we all know the probabilities of the #1 pick: 14% at best.
2) will only happen if they get #1. And even then we're not sure the Pelicans would prefer it to, say, Brown, Tatum, Smart and 4+ first round picks. He may even agree to a deal with Ainge right now that he won't renege on.
As for 3) Captain says there are rumors about KD considering signing with the Knicks and I believe him, but he certainly hasn't made his mind up yet. Maybe he's simply trying to force the FO to ship Green out of there. Or maybe when push comes to shove he will simply stay with the Warriors. Who knows what's in his mind?
And as for Kyrie, who knows? He's certainly not the most trust inspiring guy around, but will he really bolt for a Knicks team that has sucked for years and became a joke of a franchise? If he does, it would be to win a championship and that would probably only be possible in NY with both Davis AND Durant.
So what is the final probability of this happening? Fairly low. Possible but unlikely. I still trust Kyrie will stay, but like Captain says it's not guaranteed.
Right, but it's
1. Davis isn't traded before the deadline.
2. New York makes no additional trades for draft picks or Pelicans-friendly players.
3. Knicks get a top 3 pick. (Barrett or Ja Morant probably keep the Knicks in the running.)
4. Durant leaves the Warriors and chooses the Knicks.
5. Davis hasn't been traded to Boston.
6. Kyrie leaves Boston for New York.
Barrett/Ja Morant aren't Zion. I'm pretty darn sure only Zion does it for the Knicks.
top 3 pick + Knox + multiple FRP's for AD..... is MUCH better then anything boston can offer. Barrett or Zion are more marketable then Tatum. Celtics could be in a lot of trouble if NY get AD.

Barrett is not that good. He's reallllyyyyy selfish. Passing is not in his vocabulary.
Also, FYI, no assets you listed beats Tatum. None. And honestly the biggest asset often matters most. Knox is not close to Tatum and Barrett or Morant do not beat Tatum, LMAO. Plus the Memphis pick>Dallas' pick, especially if they trade Gasol and/or Conley.
Come on man, do the research. Zion is their golden ticket.

Barret is meh. Zion is the prize. But Morant in NYC would be amazing. I was a fan of DSJ and still am but have cooled on him a bit since seeing his game translate to the pros so far. Still think he can be a good pg. Ja in NYC would set the garden on fire - a much better passing guard than DSJ will probably reach. Ja might be the best point guard prospect since Kyrie. It makes sense that Kyrie wants to go to NYC, but I hope he doesn't. If he does, Ja is not an awful next option.

You already have enough cap room to sign KD and Kyrie outright, chucklenuts.
Would still be able to trade for AD afterwards.
But a lot of that falls apart if you don't land Zion in the lottery.
AD/KD/Kyrie? Meh, would be a decent little team.

Zion is the face of Duke. Barrett is just "the other guy." He has basically no marketability lol.

Worry about your players before worrying about ours. Kawhi to the Clippers is like the league's worst kept secret lol.

Re: The Knicks Scenario
I haven't had a chance to read all the posts but my take on the whole Kyrie to the Knicks scenario is all smoke and mirrors put out by Kyrie and his camp in order to secure him the best possible deal. There have been questions all season as to whether or not Kyrie is going to be worth max money and I think the fact that AD has been liked to Boston has got Kyrie worried that he may not get the money he is worth given that the Celtics will probably want to keep AD long term. Basically, I think Kyrie intends to stay with Boston but wants to get paid. Here is why I cannot see him leaving;
1. If he were to join the Knicks, I can't see him getting to the NBA Finals anytime soon, especially given that the likes of Milwaukee, Philly, Toronto (if they keep Kawhi), Boston and potentially Indiana would all be stronger even if the Knicks got K.D. He goes on about wanting to the best for his career, well surely Boston is the best place to be from a basketball point of view given the talent he has around him
2. If he were to join New York or LA then he won't be the main guy (assuming that K.D. joins New York) who can lead the franchise to glory - something that he desires and was the impetus for him leaving Cleveland.
3. Despite saying he doesn't care, his reputation would take a massive blow and given that players have this obsession with their legacy and how they are remembered these days, this is something that would destroy the Irving brand and have a devastating affect on his marketability. Kyrie has come out and said that he wants to be a leader of the Boston franchise and that he intended to resign and to reverse on those sentiments would have consequences. I mean Kyrie is an institution in his own right, maybe not as big as Lebron, but still pretty big given his deals with Nike and the fact that he is now branching off into the film industries. I mean would consumers, particularly Boston ones who are a very large market, really want to purchase products marketed by a player who they will see as being a liar and a hypocrite? Similarly, would companies still want him to endorse their products to the same extent that they do now if he was to leave Boston?
This is just some food for thought but I do believe that if Kyrie intends on leaving then Danny Ainge could and should move him on before the trade deadline. If we were to get him off our roster that would allow us to make a play for Anthony Davis...

If Kyrie leaves Boston and Kawhi leaves Toronto, at least the Raptors are still a playoff team. Celtics are left with Tatum and $60m tied up in Haywood and Horford. Siakam is a better player now then Tatum... albeit, I'd say Tatum is a better prospect. Lowry and Ibaka expire which at least creates $50m in cap space. Celtics are capped out.

Oh, get out of here with that. We'd be much better and much younger than a Kawhiless Raptors team, with multiple picks and assets at our disposal.

Realizing that Kyrie can basically make all this happen just by telling Danny he is gone in free agency not a great epiphany.
We aren't giving up Tatum for an AD rental and no Kyrie on the team. Knicks would have a wide open lane to landing KD/AD/Kyrie.
Think it through. **** is no joke.

LOL have you forgotten we made it to the ECF without kyrie last year? meanwhile the raps got rudely swept away by the cavs without kawhi -- and they still had derozan.
tatum is definitely a better prospect, and he's improving. i don't agree that siakam is better now, but even if true, that won't be for long.

Why 3 star players would sign for NY? That has never happened in the story of the NBA despite NY being a big market. I think a lot depends on how difficult the city is.

In 2020, the Celtic will have $71m tied up in Haywood, Horford, and Smart. Thats HORRIBLE cap management. Horford is regressing like crazy, Haywood is nowhere near the player he was pre-injury. So yes, Tatum is a nice piece, but your pairing him with an aging overpaid core and have zero cap space. The Raptors will have Siakam and then $80m in cap space (Ibaka, Lowry, JV, Miles). I'd take Toronto position 10/10 times.
