I kind of believe that he could be the Bam defender were desperately looking for. 6’8, 225 with a near 7 foot wingspan; has the frame to carry 240 pretty easily. Much better suited to be a 4/5 defender than a 2/3/4. Should be somewhat switchable in the future.

agreed.. he is a BIG Boy and will only get bigger... can defend all 3-4-5 positions.. he would e a top 10 pick if his shot was better.. though it seems like he can develop because he is so young and form doesn't look to far away..

Same here. When it is all said and done he may end up being the best forward from this draft.

Desmond Bane - 6'6 wing. potential elite shooter, who may be good on defense as well.

Tyler Bey - 6'7 wing. potential elite wing defender, who may be a good shooter..

speak now or forever hold your peace!!"

Bane isn't even on my radar in the first. He's got negative wingspan (less than his height). I do like his hustle and athleticism though. If he and Grant Williams were both sitting there in the early-mid 2nd I'd take Bane over Williams but that's more of an indictment on Williams than it is an endorsement of Bane. If taking Bane in the 2nd means we can get rid of one of the many scrubs on our bench, I'm all for it. But so many players have to be off the board for me to consider it and it does depend on who we take with the earlier picks.

Bey is the best "Bey" in this draft. I really want him with one of our late 1sts. He's the type of guy you should round out your roster with when you already have stars...not Langford, Edwards, and Williams.

Bane not being on your radar is concerning. Try googling his name. Or I at least hope you were being facetious and just don't like him much. In that case cool I 100% disagree though. And for the record at 26 I want neither of the 2 but no matter where on the board if bane and t.bey are both on the board bane gets picked.

NBA Front Offices really warming up to him per multiple sources. Vecenie has him at No 8 to the Knicks in his mock today. He's an elite prospect

Vecenie and the rest of these experts/gurus are complete hacks. Williams is among the most overrated prospects in this draft. Should be a nice role player though. Wouldn’t mind him at #30

This is such a lame take.. we are talking a a player who just turned 19. 2nd youngest in draft (Poku) who happens to be physically more gifted than most already. he has very good coordination and instincts for someone so strong.. I can imagine that in a few years, with some NBA level training, there will be a FAR GREATER chance he becomes one of the best players from this draft vs a "nice role player"..

How many players have his ceiling all while their floor is already pretty good.. and then ask, how many are only 19??

Has great value at 26, too. Heck, even 14. He's my this draft's Clarke/Claxton obsession. Just get him and don't try to be cute about where.

A 6'9" defender type who can put the ball on the floor and pull up from 3! The man can't even miss!

Did they name the school after him??

Paul Reed is a guy you take for a few years from now after you work with him and have him hit the weight room. Not bad for 26, 30th pick

Paul Reed looks like an extremely crappy Chris Webber, which interests me a bit. If we keep our late firsts he’s in the “take” pile, behind Oturu and Nnaji.

I want to hate you for that. But, a crappy offense Chris Webber than can cover anyone on the floor is actually a pretty solid comp.

I know this is your guy so let me say I loooved Webber as a player.

If Reed gets the DA stamp of approval I’m happy with it. He’s an absolute weapon on defense and being a prisoner of the moment I’m willing to watch his film thinking “gosh, he could develop into another BAM ADABAYO”. Those grow on trees amirite?

But pick the guys based on defense first and I’ll never be upset. This guy could make an interesting complement to/platoon with RWilliams.

I’d be interested in comparing Reed with Patrick Williams, because how is one a borderline top 10 pick and the other borderline first round? Reed seems to have had the college career Williams would have hoped for had he stuck around and developed some more... level of competition I guess stands out as the main difference. Other than that how do their measurables stack up?

Me too on CWebb. Heck, I don't even hate him as an announcer, which I know isn't normal. He can do no wrong after Roondooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My super-duper thorough, watched a few videos impression is Reed is more versatile defensively, but more of a project offensively. Williams doesn't look like he'd survive on the perimeter defensively without extensive improvement. Reed may have the ugliest shot this side of Fultz.

Reed’s jumper looks like Amir Johnson’s on fast forward.
Or like it’s the first time he’s shot a basketball, every time. But he’s got some touch and there’s a lot to work with there.

I’m only taking a guess but Williams is listed at 6’8 but I presume that measurement was taken last year so wouldn’t surprise me if he’s not only grown a bit but still growing considering he’s only 19.

Big yes for me at 14.
