Probably my least favorite player in the entire league. He's Marcus Smart without the defense or passing.

He worked himself into a nice player and he is tough. I like his hustle and he doesn't back down.

Fair enough. I think he's the worst player in the NBA and love when the Celtics get to play against him. He certainly tries hard, though. So would I if I were terrible.

we have at least 5 players worse than him so I'm guessing that's hyperbole. :o

Reggie Miller on Ken Mauer, "he's fair and biased."

Thanks, Reg.

Well he just has free reign to be bad. If you gave Semi Ojeleye the same workload, he'd be worse. Let's just say Brooks is the least valuable. He's allowed to produce so much awful basketball on both ends. Certainly Semi Ojeleye is worse, but he isn't allowed to do much.

Overall talent, from 1-9, some of these teams just have more talent on their roster than Boston.

Celtics this year relied too much on Tatum and Brown. With Brown out, you just double Tatum and it’s over.

I agree but it doesn't help that our "others" get to stand around and watch dribble hand offs for 90% of the game. When they finally do get a shot randomly its far too infrequent and under pressure from a low shot clock. This team needs a big dose in creativity offensively and defensively!

Yes I agree. But we didn’t have that problem last year because the offense started with Kemba and Hayward for the most part. The ball got moved.

With Hayward gone and Kemba out entire, the ball was put in the hands of Tatum and Brown out of necessity. Both Tatum and Brown went through growing pains. Fans this year went through that growing pains with them. Some many careless passes by both that resulted into TO’s and killed momentum. But hopefully they will get better next season because of it.

Brooks is a good player on both ends. He is known for his defense. And he put up 17 points a game this year in under 30 minutes. His FG shooting needs to improve though. But I like him as a player.

Really like Chris Duarte too. How we draft him this year. Both are good wing players coming out of Oregon, that play both ends of the floor.

he's so bad defensively if that's what you mean by 'known for his defense'. And he scores as effectively as Marcus Smart if Smart didn't take games off after punching photo frames.

honestly today's games more than anything highlight just how bad boston's role players.

literally every game today saw multiple impact players off the bench for both teams. wild celtics haven't been able to find guys

Brooks is a good defensive player. Marcus Smart is one of the worst shooters in NBA history. Come on. Smart is a 6’3 PG/SG. Brooks is a 6’7 SG/SF. So yeah, Smart is the much better passer.

Marcus Smart is a more efficient shooter than Dillon Brooks. Brooks is a trash defender. Dunno what else to tell you.

why do u keep bringing up Smart? I don't remember saying he's anywhere close to Smart. I didn't even mention Smart. You saying Smart is better is like telling me I need oxygen to breathe, I'm thinking "duh."

I bring Smart up because Smart is a known awful scorer. And he puts the ball in the hoop more effectively than Dillon Brooks. Dillon Brooks is one of those guys that I always see people talk up and then I watch him and he can't put the ball in the hoop, he can't pass, he can't rebound, he can't get his hand on the ball on defense. Broadcasters talk him up, fans talk him up and I don't get it. It's like I'm living in a clown universe where people are paid to talk Dillon Brooks up as a joke.

But hey, Memphis is winning so what do I know.

So what exactly does that have to do with Brooks being a nice player? Smart is still holding the lead as my favorite and he still can't shoot, that means little to me. I wish he shot better and I don't like it when he tries to do too much but I love his fight and defense! Scoring isn't the only thing because if it was I would have a different set of favs.

you edited it after I commented but I said I like Brooks, I didn't wait for your opinion of him to make that decision. You don't like him? Okay? I'm not trying to convince you.

Disregard anything I said about Marcus Smart. I only mention him because he's a known terrible scorer and he's still miles better than Dillon Brooks in that department. And Brooks takes 15+ shots a game.

Dillon Brooks is one of the least effective scorers in the entire NBA. He has a 51.5 TS% and that's a good year for him. Brooks is not a nice player. He can't score. He can't pass. He can't rebound. He can't defend. He's literally running around out there doing nothing. When Westbrook said, "he trick y'all," he should have been talking about Dillon Brooks.

As long as he doesn't play for Boston, I'm very happy that he has fans.

I dunno he just got beat off the dribble by Joe Ingles. Maybe I'm way off on him and I didn't mean to make this a Dillon Brooks hate thread, but I jut don't get what he does. When he has a game where he randomly shoots well I guess he looks fine, but what of the other 70 games?

lmao that Kyle Anderson fastbreak. Amazing.

I think Kyle Anderson gets a kick out of the slow mo thing. He milks that. That fast break or slow break in his case was a thing of beauty.

It's amazing to me and maybe players too because they can't stop him when he's moving like a sloth. you dont even need replay on his moves, you see them 10 times as he's making them.

Brooks with 25 and 7 rebounds now and his usually good defense. He is having himself a game.

Return to Boston Celtics
