Comparisons to Powe are intriquing. That Lakers game from Leon is my all-time favorite Celtics role layer goose bump moment. We should recall that Powe, too, was "broken down". He put his career on the line to play through the pain and for a moment put the entire team on his back.

We don't know the full story about X, but he seems wired the same way. Even though he doesn't look that great now, I think Joe knows that he's the kind of guy you can put on the floor in a big game when you really need a rebound.

Tillman was starting in the playoffs in Memphis against the Lakers and was playing good defense on Davis. He is solid. He hasn't gotten a chance in Boston because we have KP and Al. Joe prefers Luke, then Queta over Tilman. It's unfair for Tillman not to play 10 straight games and finally play for about 5 minutes and fans get on him for not playing well. His timing and game shape conditioning is off when he hardly ever plays.

Not blaming Joe, but there aren't many minutes to go around. I want to see Queta get more minutes.

It’s the way he looks when he does get a chance to play. He looks like he belongs in a beer league. I don’t feel the same when Walsh or Peterson or Queta are out there. They look like they actually belong in the NBA. Tillman doesn’t to my eyes. I’m not rooting against him, I’d love to see him turn it around and be a good player for us. But he’s been beyond terrible this year.

Is this the right thread? Took me a minute to find his.

I have been seeing a lot more workout stuff from X. It looks like he believes this is his time to shine. I really hope he does!!!

You, and me, and everyone else. The Celtics front court could really use a healthy X.

Feels like “Welcome” might be overstating it at this point.

I didn’t create this thread. This has been his thread since he came, I think. With that said, if he plays well, it is like a welcome back!

Damn, this sounds very encouraging from X

Sounds like he should be a regular rotation player for us..probably coming off the bench for a solid 15-20 MPG.

Gonna be interesting to see how the depth chart ends up looking with Queta/Tillman/Garza/Boucher. We can't play all of them in the regular rotation (or can we?) someone will probably be the odd man out..probably either Tillman/Boucher/Garza, 1 of them will be racking up some DNP's I think..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I have a hard him reconciling, if you are preaching you're going to play fast and DON'T have a spot ready for Minott to audition. I was the Tillman hype man on here last summer, but I really hope he's not. IMO his fit is the Garza or Minott fallback option. I'd definitely have a plan to play him late in the season so he has an offensive role if the team was playoff bound.

Yeah good point about Minott. If we really want to play fast, I would think Minott (and probably Hugo too but he's so much younger and less experienced) needs to play.

And apparently D-white said Minott has impressed in camp:

Very curious to see what the rotation/depth chart ends up looking like..
