Brad Stevens is so stealth. I can't imagine getting any idea what he may be doing coming from this press conference.

Zion is different than say someone like Ja who has character flaws due to being immature. Zion is someone who probably has an eating disorder. Putting him in a place like Boston doesn’t seem wise. I wouldn’t be against it if they feel like they can get him in shape but people have been trying to do that for a while now.

I think we need to take some risks for a guy that can be top 5 in this league

Jrue holiday for Dillon Brooks...? Saves us some money, get a shooter and defender with that dog in him. He probably starts for Tatum next year.

Pritchard, white, JB, Brooks, Porzingis or Al seems decent. Or, go bigger: white, JB, Hauser, Brooks, Porzingis

Dillon Brooks has his fans but he seems to make more mental mistakes and dumb plays than ... i don't know, like Ricky Davis or something.

Ime seems to love Brooks.

I don't think Rockets trade Brooks.

So I've come up with my first Jrue trade proposal:

Celtics get Nurkic and Okogie from Hornets for Holiday.

Picks from Charlotte to be expected? I think they could have interest in adding him to that young roster. Celts gain about 3mm on the contracts and likely chose one of the incoming contracts to reroute or cut and stretch. If you know my history, you'll understand the gut punch finally acquiring Nurkic only to dump him would be.
Baylor is Brat.

Danny often said a lot. He actually didn't speak in nonsense. But if that's what you're after, I can introduce you to Craig Breslow.
The most charitable interpretation is that it's ethnic cleansing and massive war crimes.

Another trade that gets us under the second apron that won't happen :D

Image

Magic gets off KCP, replacing him with Jrue.

Rockets get shooting, a good pick and size for two players not in rotation (albeit Sheppard with upside, hence the pick).

Nets get two reclamation projects with a decent possibility to flip with good value later and two good picks for their value.

Boston gets under the 2nd apron and gets some decent players that should fit. Horford and Kornet re-signed. Kornet's contract is $3.2M year one, then $10.9M last two years.

PP / Sheppard / Davison
White / Walsh / Peterson
Brown / Scheierman / Norris
JT / Johnson / Tillman
Horford / Kornet / Landale / Queta

9-10 man rotation: JT, JB, White, PP, Horford, Johnson, Kornet, Landale, Sheppard, Scheierman

He’s not a great player. He’s slightly above average but reminds me a lot of Grant Williams with the way he can fire up opponents.

So the Celtics give up multiple picks to get by far the short end of the stick? Deal is terrible.

Getting under the second apron by getting off poor contracts in KP and Jrue while getting Johnson and Sheppard would take picks.

If we can do something similar without requiring it then great. I don't have high hopes that other teams will consider KP or Jrue with their current contracts as value.

Whoever gets Johnson is going to find out that his value is tied to being the volume option in Brooklyn.

Maybe, but he was pretty good in Phoenix too.

The Celtics could get a major haul from the team that misses out on the Giannis sweepstakes if JB's made available. His injury seems minor and won't affect his trade value.

Do you think the Warriors and the Celtics be interested in a sign and trade centered around Kuminga and Porzingis? Say its a 4 year 100M deal for Kuminga. Warriors get KP who would potentially fit well in a Curry/Butler led lineup for Kuminga who doesn’t really fit them. And KP is on an expiring so not a lot of risk attached. Cs get a young piece in building their next core and cut a little bit of salary while taking on a longer contract.

Celtics get:
Kuminga signed 4/100M

Warriors get:
KP
27th pick from the Nets

Nets get:
Moses Moody

I'm pretty sure we can't sign and trade like that over the apron
