Pacers supposedly offered Hibbert for Dragic. And they are also purportedly interested in Monroe. We know the Pistons want Rondo.

To Pacers: Monroe (sign and trade at approximately $15M/year). Gives them a young, offensively-minded center for the future while they wait on Paul George to heal up.

To Celtics: Hibbert. The "rim-protector" Ainge keeps talking about, who will hopefully turn his game around playing with his buddy Jeff Green.

To Pistons: Rondo (+ Vitor for salary). Teams up with Josh Smith and Andre Drummond for the most hilariously awful free-throw shooting team of all time.

(Full disclosure - I do not support trading Rondo, but fear it may be coming to that with the lack of "fireworks" this offseason and Rondo's deal expiring.)

IF we give up rondo, and the pistons give up a rfa for rondo, we need a first round pick from the pistons as well.

There's not much sense bringing in Hibbert then giving away Rondo (or Green for that matter). I'm apprehensive of acquiring Hibbert and giving up assets for him but if you're trading for him, it's because you want to be competitive now. Losing Rondo and/or Green would negate that unless you're bringing in some other all-star calibre player. I'm not even sure if Hibbert can help you get past the 2nd round even with Rondo and Green in the lineup.

Slightly serious about this 8-player, 4-team trade (not that this type of deals happen often):

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=krnmjah

BOS gets Hibbert (rim protection)
DET gets Stauskus, Bass (SVG's shooters!)
IND gets D. Williams, Young, Bogans, Evans (PG's future sidekicks plus cap relief) + Boston 2015 protected 1st rd pick
SAC gets Josh Smith (they covet him right?)

We get to keep Rondo, Smart, Green, Sully and Olynyk. But I'm guessing Bird would want Rondo or Smart, at the least if he's giving up Hibbert.

Rondo/Smart/Pressey
Bradley/Thornton/Johnson
Green/Turner/Wallace
Sully/Olynyk
Hibbert/Zeller/Faverani/Anthony

Thats awful for the Kings. Smith doesn't carry that kind of value

Monroe signing the qualifying offer sort of kills the "insider" rumor going around here a few weeks ago that Ainge was going to trade for him.

I think Kings might do it if you swap Staustas for McLemore. There is no way they will move Staustus for Smith but McLemore I can see it.

Monroe is still very much on the table, this if anything is him pushing as hard as possible for a S&T, he doesn't have to literally sign the QO until Oct. 1. Worst case they still don’t trade him, he probably gets benched for the season and is UFA next year and gets a Big Al type 13+M deal.

But now DET has almost no leverage to demand any assets from other teams, because any team can just wait and sign him without giving up anything.

If I'm DA I just Low-Ball the hell out of SVG and go with Bass, Bogans and the other non-guaranteed contracts of Babb, CJ, Pressey.

He gets basically Bass for Monroe, which is a solid role big, can play next to Andre, has played in the playoffs and has played for SVG 2nd best team. He could keep any of the cheap players if he wanted but he’ll prolly just waive them.

Kings and Celtics in discussions about Rondo.
Any deal based around Mclemore +picks+filler.

Take it with a grain of salt- although the guy is a radio host in SACTO....

Would you guys want McLemore? I think I would rather go for a Nash + Randle. I think Randle is going to have a better career than McLemore

plus you got a C and PF locked down for the future
C Zeller / KO
PF Randle / Sully
SF Turner / Johnson
SG Bradley / Young
PG Smart / Pressley

that is a young group to build around. It may take you a while for this team to develop but I personally like it

Could anyone confirm if this has any credibility? According to his info, the Celtics are shopping Rondo and it's between Houston and Sacramento. McLemore is another SG, and the Kings I believe don't have their own first rounder in 2015. Plus we have loads of first round picks...I don't get it.

A three team deal?

Trading Rondo for McLemore, picks and filler would definitely mean another year of around 25 wins. I find it more likely that we trade for someone in order to keep Rondo here rather than shipping Rajon out of town.

What if you trade Rondo for playoff pieces?

Rondo + Wallace + Faverani for Monroe + Jennings, or something like that?

Boston get to contend and so does Detroit but you just meet each others needs.

Detroit Lineup
C Drummond / Faverani / Mitchell
PF Smith / Jerebko / Datome
SF Wallace / Singler / Butler
SG Meeks / KCP / Bynum
PG Rondo / Augustine / Dinwiddle

Boston Lineup
C Monroe / Zeller / Anthony
PF Sully / KO / Bass
SF Green / Turner / Johnson
SG Bradley / Thornton / Young
PG Smart / Jennings / Pressely

You may ask why would you do this right?. For one your best position depth wise was PG so you move one to address your other positions. C position for you guys is defiantly the weakest. So you trade Rondo for Monroe since Detroit need a legit PG to run their offense and you could use a C. It will give Smart more minutes for him to develop. Smith gets to move back to PF now that Monroe is gone. Make another move for a PF or SG and you are a playoff team. You think Bulls will do a Bass + Babb + maybe a 2nd or 1st for Gibson?

They'd have to get back McLemore and Stauskas and swing Stauskas to another team. Can also see Green & Wallace going to Detroit and Josh Smith being sent to Sac. Moving Green helps the tank and they get Wallace off the books. Possibly a deal like:

McLemore, Stauskas, DWilliams, Thompson & Terry to Boston
Rondo, Smith & Bynum to Sac
Green & Wallace to Detroit

No idea where Stauskas goes, but there will surely be suitors.

If Stauskas and McLemore weren't so redundant, Sacramento could've actually been an interesting trade partner. Too bad Randle didn't fall to them, I'd be all over a McLemore/Randle package.

This makes a little sense.. I'm guessing if it ever happens, Kings would basically give up Derrick Williams/Pick and McLemore and take a risk on Rondo even without him wanting to sign an extension. Hopefully Danny includes Trash, still not that great for the C's, cause too many SF's/SG's(and PFs lol, although Derrick is a combo SF/PF), but it's something...
Good assessment:
