His defense, rebounding and 3 ball are all light years ahead of where I thought they would be. All we need from him now is to get comfortable and start looking for his own offense more.

Great decision by Stevens to give him the keys to the 2nd unit, role initially reserved for Hayward. Smart and Rozier need to defer more to him or set him up for easier looks. Larkin should just sit down. Those 3-guard lineups were painful to watch, like last year. Dragic feasted on Shane.

Yeah I think Larkin is out of the rotation once Morris comes back. They have to put in Larkin for now because of lack of options. Semi got exposed in rotations, Yabu isn't ready and it seems Nader didn't do enough in his earlier opportunities. With Morris back you can go

Theis
Morris
Tatum
Smart
Rozier

As a bench unit

I think that 2nd unit still needs one more scorer though. I definitely think it should become Tatum's unit, I just think you guys need to bring in another scorer for that unit. Rozier/Smart/Semi/Tatum/Theis is really lacking scoring punch. Morris is going to help a lot with that unit. But I think if you guys can get a scorer with that exception, then that bench can really be an offensive force.

It's gonna be Morris. Rozier had an off night tonight but he's really come along as a scoring threat early on as well, if he could only finish at the rim through contact. I don't really see many options out there for a microwave scoring option off the bench. Maybe they bring back Jordan Crawford?

Ainge did say they prefer another playmaker for the DPE instead of a big. Not too many options in the FA/trade market. Barton? Bellinelli? J.Crawford? Those guys can easily shoot you out of games as in them esp if they're defensive liabilities. But I agree, Semi and Theis aren't going to cut it most nights.

They can definitely shoot you out but they can also get a lot hotter than anyone else you guys have on the bench. I would feel more comfortable one of those guys putting up a ton of shots off the bench every night than Smart. Dont get me wrong I really like Smart but this high volume scoring thing isnt his game, it worked out today but I dont think you can count on that happening too often. I think Smart's perfect role is a Winslow type role he has for Miami. Solid distributor who is an opportunistic scorer and hard nose in all the other aspects of the game. I think one of those microwave scorers would be great, or if Ainge was just doing GM talk and you guys get a big. I think Morris can replace Semi and a big Len/Okafor can replace Theis. Semi and Theis are good players just dont think theyre ready for heavy solid rotation minutes every game yet.

Anyone else surprised at the type of shots Tatum has been putting up as well? I was expecting 80% mid post up fadeaways, but I honestly don't remember one from last night.

The kid learns quick, and it shows that those who were harping on how his game doesn't translate well to modern NBA offenses have to see that (at least early on) he's making them eat crow.

That might officially take Fultz out of the running for MVP.

What a mess of a franchise. Why did they let him play this long?

It's kind of funny seeing Sixers fans on their board saying they should have taken Tatum when they were all in on Josh Jackson before the Fultz trade. I'm pretty Ainge might have been the only one who would have taken Tatum in the top 3 and right now he's delivering big time.

They wanted to let him set the franchise record for the most games played by a rookie in his actual rookie season. Now that he has accomplished that, it's time to shut him down.

But it wasn't.

Irving got an all-star PG in IT, Crowder, and a Nets pick that was more valuable than any pick last year.

Irving got more than just about any all-star in the last 10 years in a trade.

yeah thats true.

But IT is broken, and crowder isnt even starting anymore for the Cavs.

So the pick though is valuable, but there was a point in which ainge needed to trade some picks. I like Irving over a potential pick next year in the top 10.

You do know the Nets are the 7th seed in the east right? So, the 16th pick this year is more valuable than any pick in 2017?....... I mean, I have no words.

I know that, and I also know it's a long season an their starting lineup is:

Deangelo Russel
Levert
Demare Carrol
RHJ
Mozgov

That will contend for the least talented starting lineup the NBA has seen in years. Not a single player is even close to all-star level. Let's wait and see how they do this year.

Who knows...Nets fans treat LeVert as Michael Jordan so maybe they know something we don’t??!!! Lol
