The media is absolutely pathetic and it's dramatically hurting this sport.

The amount of lazy bull writing and podcasts that speak about nothing other than NY or LA is horrible.

I get it, you can't watch every game so you just pretend you're a fan of the NBA and you're only a fan of those two cities.

But it's pathetic. Just actually follow the sport, if you need in depth analysis that's what local reporters are for.

I don't think the NBA can do anything about it other than rescinding media passes, but we've hit an all-time low since it was readily available on the internet. Maybe this is due to the collapse of ESPN and they're just trying to attract what little cable users are left by only speaking on 2-3 teams... I'm not sure of the root causes. I do know this is horrible, even The Ringer has gotten much much worse.

Basically the media has downgraded the enjoyment of the sport the same way Durant did by joining a 73 win team. Both need to actually put in an honest effort and actually cover other team.

I still haven't heard a single podcast actually follow the Bucks post season. You know, the best team in the NBA record wise. They mention them off hand and hate they have to then talk about how great it would be if AD was a Laker or Knick for another 3 hours.

This board was split by the dumbass IT garbage, the divide on Smart got nasty constantly, and this season unfolding like it did was the final straw. Cave was on the right side of IT/Smart too btw, him being banned just brings the down the already rapidly dwindling quality of this board.

Yeah IT stuff is when this all started happening. Both sides were ‘allowed’ to insult each other, and all it did was drive the quantity of posters off this forum to the point where it felt like there is only a dozen or so posters regularly out here. Honestly I feel like one of them, all this place has become is insults and calling people out. It’s not really that fun anymore. Not even to say I was insulted. I’ve never really been. Just saw it, and it seems like a lot of the current regulars are alright with that style, but meh. Not for me.

I can attest to Darth’s zero tolerance - I got banned in Darth age! I think Cave is an incredible poster ( even though I’ve often been on the receiving end of his digs ) but like all of us he can cross the line. Hopefully his ego allows him to come back because he is a great poster - especially when it comes to breaking news on GS Warriors.

P is quite arguably the most well-liked member of this forum, a knowledgeable basketball fan and a class act.

It has nothing to do with P and everything to do with the fact that this forum is declining more and more as a whole every year. We were seriously better back in 2014 when we were winning 25 games and Arambone was running amok.

Somehow, the more competitive this team has gotten, the worse this forum has become. And it's not because we have had an influx of more fans, either. It's the same people. As a matter of fact, a lot of the top posters we have had over the years have left (come back Marley and Fruit Pastilles), and lot of other really good posters who were once regulars now only make cameos every now and then (I miss you, 2Mas and GreenBloodedC).

It's funny. We would all make fun of the Raptors forum over the years, but now we are worse and I don't even think it is remotely close.

This forum has disintegrated into a cesspool, and Cave of all people (the best poster on this forum regardless of what people want to believe) getting banned is emblematic of just how toxic this forum has become.

Eh, from what I saw you had zero tolerance policy only when it suited you and you trolled often. Mostly any fan that came on the board that was from the outside but also fellow Celtic fans.

Either way I think the board is in a great state and my entire point was we just need to chill on the personal attacks. The board has had a good run, we can have divisions.

If we survived the Pierce years with Curm we can survive deciding which way is the best way to succeed.

This team is still in a fantastic state. Even if Irving leaves, Rozier shoots his way out of town, and we don't trade for AD who isn't excited about 3 first rounders added to a young core of Smart, Brown, Tatum?

Brown and Tatum could potentially develop into all-stars in the future. We could get lucky in the draft. We have virtually zero bad long term contracts (Hayward expires shortly).

This is still an easy time to be a fan. I just didn't want to see another long term poster get themselves permabanned by what is now what their 1rst? 2nd alt account in this thread alone?

I feel like the mods are doing a great job and being extremely patient with a long term poster who is a valued member of the community. And I really appreciate it because it's tough and no one is getting paid to deal with this. I think we all just want to not see it go to a place where it can't be undone.
