Thompson has one year left, Rob is injury prone and also has one year left. Cs might need a 5 and they can both play that position, though Garuba is also a much needed 4, which makes me lean more towards him.
We will see, hope I'm wrong because there's a couple other guys I'd love to see there at 16, but it is what it is.
Honestly, this pick has trade written all over it
4 years left on Tatums deal. 3 years left on Jaylens. Both could realistically force their way out in 2 years.
No chance we use the pick. The time to draft and develop is gone. Either trade it for the best vet we can or use it as part of dumping Kemba for a useful player.
Fair point and solid argument for trading the pick. After all, we need to get older as a team, not younger. We're one of the youngest teams in the league. These are the 10 youngest teams in the league: Thunder, T Wolves, Grizzlies, Magic, Pistons, Pelicans, Kings, Celtics, Hornets, Spurs. Of those teams, none of them are contenders and most are at the bottom of the standings.
We have all these young guys we're trying to develop (Pritchard, Nesmith, langford, time lord, grant W, etc.) so we should just focus on developing them and not adding more young guys. Not to mention we have Yam Madar we could bring over who's only 20 years old..
We have holes on this roster, but you could argue that we should fill those holes with veterans, not rookies..
That being said, until Ainge actually trades the pick I'll keep speculating on good prospects we could take with it
