If Mitchell is really available, we should make our ‘Murray’ offer for him. If there is one guy that will over value some of our guys, it is Ainge. And he loves picks

Ricky Rubio is still available as far as I see.

Sad that big playmakers like SlowMo and Batum aren't, they could have been sneaky defense buster help against teams when our offense sputters without giving up anything on our defense. Having either one of them as an option to help with the playmaking instead of only having sit and wait behind a 3 with Grant as an option is the kind of bench versatility that makes kings for teams.

Devastated Tyus Jones resigned with the Grizzles but I can see why it'd be very hard for him to leave what they've done there especially with how often he's their starter and in game winning time.

Then there are a bunch of big bodies, that Drummond contract is super low, idk what the vet min is for someone with his years but it can't be much more than that. He might have been a good big body to have off the bench.

Still hoping we find a way to either:

Trade for starting talent, we can't sit here and pray 36 year old legs hold up for TimeLord's body holds up.

If not:

Then sign someone who can dramatically help with our ball handling and playmaking.
Then sign one or two big bodies to have Rob injury insurance and have guys we can throw fouls against Embiid and Giannis that aren't free layups like a Theis is.

9 kennard
10 covington
11 Mann

I mean, c'mon. there's gonna have to be some type of consolidation going on.

Plus there's BJ Boston and Amir Coffey (just resigned for 3 yrs, $11 mil)

I feel like either powell, covington, kennard or morris gotta go..i doubt it's powell, he's their 3rd best scorer. covington and morris are just too similar - and also both pretty similar to Batum. they just resigned batum - he's staying. If they move covington or morris, that could be a TPE option..

Mann is an interesting player from that list.
That'd be my target.

Most years, yeah. But this summer, there’s so little cap space, and no star free agents, so most of the “big” mid-level names are off the board already. There are like six players left who are even worth the tax MLE.

OPJ also hit damn near every shot in the finals against us.

Seth Curry too, but he hits shots against everyone.

Josh Hart has also shot really good against us, including that time the pelicans beat us in heartbreaking fashion in 2020-2021..

All of these players could possibly be available, either with the TPE or MLE.

How the **** could you leave Ish Smith off that list

So what's your opinion now?

They're saying it's portion of the MLE. Don't know for sure how much they have left.

A two year 6.6 million dollar deal with a normal raise would start at a little over 3.2 million. The MLE starts at roughly 10.5. So they likely have about 7.3 million left, which is more than the 6.5 the Celtcis could offer Galo. But might depend on a second year, or what he thinks his role will be.

I think we end of with Gallo but it may just take longer than we expected. Much like the situation last year with Schroder, my suspicion right now (and that's all it really is at the moment) is that Brad wants Gallo but not for the years and money that Gallo wants us. He knows that Gallo wants to come here because he likes the role he could play with this team. He'd probably be a 28-30mpg player here next year. But after next year Brad may not be ready to commit more years. Perhaps Brad is offering a team option 2nd year where Gallo wants both years guaranteed. So Brad left the contract at his door to go shopping around the league with. I totally buy Brad's refusal to bid against himself regarding MLE targets. That's what we saw last year. He knows Wyc isn't Steve Ballmer here.

So to sum up, Gallo probably already has an offer from us but he's waiting to sign it to see if some other team will offer him better than can offer the role, on a title contending team that can give him more money. More than likely, Brad has already done his homework here and we're just waiting for Gallo to figure out what Brad already knows.

Lavine

There's been no hype around Lavine. My guess is everyone expects him to resign.

cant believe we sat through all this and nothing happened except the rumor of the privilege to possibly sign
stinky Gallinari...who is arguably not as good as Fournier....

I was sort of expecting (not necessarily wanting) a trade for a guy like Crowder, or take a chance on Jaylen Smith....

Offense:

Defense:

Right in his prime. Fast, bouncy, athletic, good size, pretty strong build. Fits into the TPE.

Well if Brad is asleep I’m going to bed as well. Hope to wake up to some big news like signing some dude to a two way or something. Cheers

If we end up with Gallo, my suspicion now is that Brad let's the TPE expire. Maybe they add someone for the vet minimum, but I'm beginning to think they really don't want to add that much salary if they don't have to.
