OG's really solid though. 18p/6r/2a/2s/1b (to Jaylen's 27p/7r/3a/1s/0.5b), decent shooter, leading the league in steals, and has room to grow.

But here's a surprise, perhaps: he has a 13% TOV compared to Jaylen's 12%
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/anunoog01.html
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/brownja02.html
WS/48 of 0.08 to Jaylen's 0.11
BPM of 0.3 to Jaylen's 1.5
TS% of 0.57 to Jaylen's 0.59
VORP of 0.8 to Jaylen's 1.2
So OG + Precious + 3 firsts for Jaylen? Maybe, if we were rebuilding.
But we ain't. Ride or die 8-)
Second year in the league and JB posted those OG stats but in playoffs.
Ok, some of you dont like Brown but most of you see only JB weaknesses and cancel in their mind his strengths.
We are talking about a 27 point scorer with 7 R at 50% shooting from the field and 80% from the line.
Player is a ball hog if he takes 20 shots per game and shoot 40%. But JB is elite putting the ball in the baskets even with that usage.

Someone talk about Sabonis. Yes a good great player, Horford type. But he is a RS player. He cant play D and dont stretch the floor. Sacto is a perfect place for him.
It's not casual that Sabonis playes there and Jaylen playes for the Celtics. The best team in the league and he is one of the reason why...

Most of you tend to forget that real players are made for playoffs. And Jaylen is one of the best in that category.

I mentioned Sabonis, and then said I'm happy with JB.
I also have been a JB guy since he got here, so Stan, make sure you read beyond the first line of posts, please!

Jaylen's turnovers are right on par with other players with similar usage rates. Jaylen also have better FG% than everyone listed. But I'm confident somebody out there can still manage to dig some super advanced metric out there where Jaylen is the worst out of this group.

KD is shooting 56%, so no Jaylen doesn’t. Donovan Mitchell also has a TS of 63%, Jaylen is at 59%. You should also mention that his assist rate is 6% lower than the next closest guy, so their turnover rates should be higher than his.

If you’re going to make snarky posts, should try to be factually correct.

And we got a winner. I knew I can count on you to always find a way to rationalize how Jaylen is the worst.

Yeah, I overlooked that Durant one. OK. Shoots better than everyone on that list except Kevin freaking Durant. Assist rate? OK. That does weigh heavier than being a more efficient scorer? Jaylen is also a better defender than at least 3 guys on that list and arguably as good as the best one (George/Durant).
Nooo Jaylen is the worst def on the team. But last year he had the best D rating on the team but those haters like only adv stats that confirm their narrative.

Not surprise, we are talking to some people they were saying for years that JB scores because of JT presence. Cause other great players on other teams playes with mediocre players only? Right?

Who said Jaylen is the worst? Turnover rate isn’t some unknown advanced stat, it just weights usage, which you yourself used. Same for assist rate, these are stats that the nba teams, writers, and analysts use lol. They also use TS to measure efficiency, as raw FG% doesn’t tell the whole story. Jaylen, Booker, and George all have a 59% TS, Mitchell is at 63%, and KD is at 67%.

Jaylen is probably the third best defender in that group, PG and KD are elite defenders. Even Mitchell has been great defensively this year, whereas everyone has acknowledged that Jaylen has struggled on that end, Jaylen himself said as much.

It’s not about showing that Jaylen is the worst, but you want to make snarky posts, you will get called on them.

I know but Sabonis and JB are two different beast. Equalizer players are good but we have a plenty of them on this roster. JB is the right fit here.

JB doesn’t always play good defense and some of his lapses and inconsistencies are noteworthy. However, after Rob he probably has the most defensive talent on the roster. That means, when the situation demands of him to be better, ie. the playoffs….he is capable of stepping it up and being a great defender.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

My point is Jaylen's TO numbers aren't too outrageous compared to his peers in the same usage range. If you listen to some people here, you wouldn't think that would be the case, almost like Jaylen is a whole another level of bad in that category.

See, this is a take that is relatively fair. Though I think Smart and Tatum both have better defensive talent, but I consider feel for the game part of the talent equation.

Jaylen can be a very good 1 on 1 defender, he just really struggles with scheme at times.

Jaylen Brown’s Assist to TO ratio is 342nd in the NBA. He’s….a guard. This is awful. This exemplifies his terrible handle and BBIQ. And this despite him usually enjoying very little defensive pressure and being defended by the opposition’s worst defender. There’s no defending this and it IS outrageous. He’s a solid top 35-40 player. Saying THAT instead of top 15-25 is not “hating”

He's not a great 1 on 1 defender either, although he's at least adequate on that end. He doesn't move that well laterally and just bites too easily for any feignts or moves.
His cringefilled clapping flex on Bones is probably emblematic where literally as soon as Bones hit the turbo all Jaylen could do was foul and then belatedly try to flop.

What makes Jaylen "one of the best" playoff performers? He had 20.5 per 75 on +1.2 TS% in 2020 playoffs, then in 2022 he had 22.7 on +1.4 TS%. Those are ok numbers but hardly exceptional.

Points per 100, Jaylen was 19th among playoff performers in 2022. In 2020, Jaylen was tied for 18th with Montrezl Harrell and Khris Middleton.

Points per game, Jaylen was 15th in 2020, 14th in 2022.

If you provide 90% of your value on scoring, and your best is being 14th in the league in ppg and 18th in the league in pp100, then are you really "one of the best" playoff performers?

I eagerly await your personal attacks.

Brown, Horford and Pritchard for Sabonis, Harrison Barnes and Davion Mitchell would be a deal made in heaven for the Celtics.

The first line, ok, nothing new he is what he is, definitely not a point guard thanks for pointing out the obvious.

The rest is all downhill. At least come up with some new material.

Yeah let's do that. Hell even Brown for Sabonis straight up. Sabonis has 22 career triple doubles to Tatum's 2.

463 played for Sabonis
477 for Tatum

A positive takeaway from the SAS game is Jaylen Brown limited his turnovers to just 6. On the flipside these are some of the turnovers that Tatum and Smart committed:
