The Pelicans are a sleeper team to get Rondo, IMO. Tons of assets and I believe all of this trade talk will lead to the point of no return. Rondo is a stubborn guy and he will not let go of Danny dangling him around. I hope I'm wrong, but the writing is on the wall. Rondo is the type of player you want to build a contender around, hope Danny knows what he's doing here!

Which ever Russian team acquires him would then send 5 stray dogs a month for a period of no greater than 12 months and rights to the Russian electrical team that was responsible for the opening of the games.

He's been rumored to head everywhere else so why not?

I'll laugh when come Thursday the team looks the same as it did before.

Those 5 Russian stray dogs is better then that steaming pile of crap that Houston wants to dump on us.

Sacramento offer is good, but should happen on draft day, because SAC pick will be lower. Plus they can not trade 2014 first rounder now if Im not mistaken (top 12 protected going to CHI).

But yes on draft day:
- Mclemore
- Top5 pick
- Thomas
- 2017 first rounder (2015 probably going to CHI)

Than we would have to be lucky in loterry one of SAC/BOS picks to be top 3 (Parker/Wiggins). Adding a pg with other top 7 pick like Smart and suddenly you would have a great young team which could grow together.

Smart/Mclemore/Parker/Sully/???

You than draft the best C in 2015 and you are set...than its up to players to improve. This would be similar like OKC went with high draft picks.

Golden State could be an interesting destination for Rondo. Their current outside rotation with Barnes/Thompson/Iggy isn't working, both guards, Curry and Thompson can't defend anything. Rondo would open ridiculous amount of shots for Curry and would be deadly defensive combo with Bogut. Rondo would definitely re-sign in SF/Oakland.

If they trade Thompson and Barnes (+ filler obviously) for Rondo and move Curry to the SG, that could be a killer combination.

Ainge likes Barnes, Thompson seems like a Brad Stevens type of player, so they have assets to make it. It is only a question of whether they are willing to take the chance.

Which team is better:
A) PG-Rondo, SG-Curry, SF-Iggy
B) PG-Curry, SG-Thompson, SF-Iggy, 6th man-Barnes

I'd go with option A because it has two superstars on guard positions and better D.

The financial aspect might be tricky. This is a version of the deal in which Cs take scrubs with no long-term salary. It is possible. http://pokit.org/get/img/59857eb00d690d6caccaf9d71e61c4c4.jpg
And if GS thinks they aren't getting enough, they have trade exception to absorb Bass.

I don't think they can trade the pick until the debt with Chicago has been settled. I believe they could draft and then trade the player they pick (for us) on draft day...but that makes it trickier. CBA still applies and they would not be able to trade any expiring contracts once the season is over. I don't think they can trade RFAs either? which Thomas is. I really don't see this one happening.

Another thing I find ironic is all the Knick fans are saying nobody would trade 2 unprotected firsts, however, if the Knicks had any picks, they would be the first to do so. Hence, they have no picks.

Then people in this forum will complain that Ainge should of took the Kings deal that was probably never offered.

They haven't had a pick for so long that they've basically forgotten what a pick is.

And then they overrate the **** out of them. Hardaway is Shump 2.0 with scoring instead of defense. Or Landry Fields 3.0.

McLemore, Thomas, a Top 5 pick and another? That's a ridiculous haul for Rondo IMO. If that's anywhere near the table, let alone on it, we take it.

Agreed

With that trade plus all the BKN picks we're beyond flexible with options in the future

We could just give them LAC pick or a Brooklyn pick

Trade JV, Ross, Demar, everything......but Rondo would need to agree to an extention

Although Lowry has played like the best PG in the East this season so trading for Rondo would mean that Masai does not believe in Lowry or thinks he can re-sign him

HELL NO. Get back to the our board  .

Rondo has got to be the most trade-rumored player in history. Right now there are thin rumors linking him to Toronto, Sacramento, the Lakers, the Knicks, Detroit, Houston, and undoubtedly more that I'm forgetting.

Over the years he must have been rumored to go virtually everywhere in the league. He's been rumored to go to some teams numerous times.

He's still a Celtic though.

The latest from cyberx:

It has been discussed on some level (Rondo to Houston)

Do I feel confident it will happen? Right now I think the Rockets do not have the strongest offer for Boston... IF they cave in to give Parsons at the deadline... I put the Rockets as the front runner.

Ainge feels Parsons could LEAD the Celtics team and be a vocal leader on and off the floor for a group of young guys.

Aingle and Morey are both doing their jobs... That is to discuss everything they can. Does that mean it is going to happen? Of course not. But does that mean the Rockets GM is busting his butt and looking at EVERY possibility? YES.

If Ainge feels that way about Parsons we should probably be looking into trading our GM
