Seriously folks, McLemore and Williams?

While you may be right, it seems he also got some guesses right. He is getting congratulated in twitter for announcing the Shawn Marion to Cavs first.
We will see. I believe that the deal as it is rumored is not good for the Celtics. If any trade with Sacto does happen it should include Wallace leaving Boston. Provided we are not getting equal value for Rondo in any deal with the Kings (Cousins would never be traded) then at least we need fresh blood, some picks and to unload our worst contract (Gerald)

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
The Kings have the ability to give us cap relief, but they would leave us with like 20 players on the roster.. Rondo/Wallace for Williams/Mclemore/Terry/Jason Thompson works, I think..

Even if this guy is a twitter fake, Rondo/Mclemore makes sense and has been batted around before.. Not sure we're going to get a better offer..

So a trade that doesn't work financially has an 80% chance of being done before the season? Huh

The guy says that other pieces would be needed to make it work moneywise. I don´t know if he is a fake or not, but Sacramento has long coveted Rondo, and Danny was close to doing something with them in draft night

He really went out on a limb with that one. A signing that's been rumored since the day Lebron went to Cleveland basically.
That's like saying: My sources are telling me that Ray Allen to Cleveland has a "90%' chance of happening." Stay tuned, folks!

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
The one interesting thing about Sacramento is....
WTF was with that Draft Night WojBomb about us shipping out #6 for McLemore straight up? That was wicked bizarre. Literally any other writer tweets that out and I'd just write it off as poor journalism (the norm), but when it's Woj, you know there's at least some nugget of truth in there.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
For no real reason, let's assume the trade happens, and is McLemore, Williams and a 2017 pick.
Doing nothing else, we would potentially look something like this next summer...
Under contract:
Smart
McLemore/Bradley
Young/Turner/Wallace
Sullinger/Olynyk
Zeller
Draft picks (estimated):
2015: 4, 25, 31, 35
2016: 9, 14, 29, 34, 44
2017: 8, 14
2018: 12, 20, 50
Bird Rights or options on:
Derrick Williams (QO)
Green (PO)
Bass (Bird Rights)
Thornton (Bird Rights)
Faverani (TO)
Potential cap room: $23.3m*
* Assumes we only retain players under contract, Turner is paid $2.5m or so, and that we keep all picks.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
If McLemore and a future pick are the only assets we're getting in return, you HAVE to include Gerry, right? I'm not a fan of including GW in any Rondo trades and lessening the return--- but if all we're getting back is that heap, we gotta at least be dumping that bum in the process.
EDIT: Looks like the numbers don't work out until Wayne Ellington's trade restriction expires October 6th. Otherwise we'd have to take back deals longer than GW's in Landry or Thompson's.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
Looks like Sac's 1st rounder is protected until 2017. So they'd have to trade the 2019 pick right?
Traded J.J. Hickson to Kings for Omri Casspi, 2012 first round pick (protected top 14 in 2012, top 13 in 2013, top 12 in 2014, top 10 in 2015-17, else 2017 second round pick (protected 56-60)) (?-?) on 2011-06-30

Add this legendary fake rumor from December:
The Sacramento Kings are reportedly preparing a package for Boston Celtics All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo, a reliable league source disclosed on Thursday.
After trading for Derrick Williams and the Rudy Gay this season, the Kings continue to be aggressive on the trading front, but this time they are looking to acquire the reigning assists champion.
The Celtics front office stressed that they have no intention trading away Rondo, who is still rehabilitating from an ACL injury. However, the Kings are willing to trade away their young stars and draft picks for a shot at landing the prolific floor general.
According to NBA Buzz, the Kings are ready to send third-year point guard Isiah Thomas, rookie shooting guard Ben McLemore, shooting guard Marcos Thornton, power forward Jason Thompson, and two future first-round picks to the Celtics for Rondo.

Thompson might have a team option on his last year and he makes less than GW.. Swapping them is a net gain- he's also younger, a big, and likely to perform better in Boston- Mclemore is a risk, but partly, yeah, the Woj thing about us dealing 6 for him indicates our FO is high on him..

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
uFcking Stauskas. This would be so much easier if they had ended up with Randle or Vonleh.
McLemore + [Vonleh/Randle] + [any future 1st] would be a pretty damn good haul for Rondo. That's before adding in the possibility of dumping Gerry's ass.
Benny's value is so low right now that it would seem like we'd be stretching to sell ourselves on a deal revolving around him and a meh pick as a Rondo package. Maybe they could shop Stauskas to a 3rd team, but you'd think the point would be to pair him with Rondo, especially with Mclemore leaving. One of those "he's worth more to them, than us" type deals, kinda like Jeff/Avery in any Kevin Love talks were.

I like the idea of Rondo to Charlotte, Kemba to SAC, and Mclemore, Vonleh and/or MKG to us..

It's standard to include language that states Boston cannot get the pick until two years after this one has been conveyed. Would probably be 2017, but potentially 2018 or 2019.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
Is there really smoke to this, or is just a regurgitated previous rumor that has not played out yet to many a folks dismay? I mean if Ainge wanted to do this deal, why wouldn't he have done it when it was rumored at the deadline and was much better than the crap-o package that is now (since Thomas is no longer on the team due FA) or during draft night when you could have at least got their number 8 pick in the draft. I mean, lets be logical here and not desperate for any movement no matter how net negative it could potentially be.
