Hal he is a pro, Williams is not. I don’t even think it’s guaranteed that A Williams gets a two way. We will see

That's pretty lazy analysis.

He's a pro, because he's played NBA games? So has Kendall Brown, so has Isiah Wong, so has Kennth Lofton, so Juwon MOrgan, Malik Fitts, Justin Jackson, Noah Vonleh, Denzel Valentine, so has hundreds of guys who were really bad NBA players, who got waived..

I'm guessing you didn't see a single Kentucky game this season.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Whatever Hal, continue your love affair with marginal NBA players. Stick to what you do best

If it was so easy, why couldn’t Amari Williams do it?

Sometimes that's enough. Williams is fine for 2 way this year. As for Bassey and his 4 years of nba experience, he could really help this year. with the emphasis on driving and cutting it's nice to have an extra big on the bench that can be a garbage man on the offensive glass.

Lets see how the rest of summer games go. He was a pleasant surprise and contributed to the win.

Love the way Gonzalez fights through every pick. Shulga can play too.

Why the Lofton hate? Kid knows how to play. His bulk is an advantage, not a disadvantage. I was all in on D.J. Burns, Jr. too. Great fun to watch. I understand he's playing in Korea now.

Bassey did what he's good at. If he keeps it up, he's got a chance to make the team.

Bobby Manning‬

Excellent start to the Summer League for the C's. Some good stuff from Walsh, a solid Hugo debut, the Amari offensive flashes you would've expected and a revelation in Charles Bassey.

Walsh Hugo and Bassey looked like NBA players, everyone else was pretty bad. Williams flashed some skill but he’s charmin soft. Baylor Scheierman should just go home now

Hal loves him some Amari. Probably had him 14th on his legendary Big Board... :)

But, ehh it's the Summer League, so very little which occurs matters after all.

He should not even be in the summer league ...with millions of dollars at stake. He cannot control his weight, why even bother? Boston would be much better off Spreading out those minutes to our overcrowded wing position and play one center.

Ehhh. He's only 22.
Plenty of time to get into a healthy eating plan. (By a Team.)

Do you have to be on an N b a team to hire a nutritionist and or a trainer?? Again, we are not talking about a player Who's about 10 pounds overweight? That is atrocious for anyone who wants a get a legit chance. It's not like he has only a weight issue. He's quite undersized to begin with. Why make it even tougher? And what kind of defense could he possibly play?

This is the change in style that Brad Stevens was talking about.

Bobby Krivitsky‬

The Summer Celtics start off 1-0. They played exactly how Matt Reynolds and the coaching staff wanted. They were physical, competed throughout, and played at a fast pace. You could repeatedly hear Reynolds telling them to push the ball up the floor.

He's Kabengele without the 3 ball. Remember how we went gaga over Kabengele at summer league? :)

I remember the Cabin Jelly excitement sure!

But Kabs was coming onto a team with Al, Luke, Griffin, Vonleh there. Bassey actually has a chance to play.

There's 30 teams in the NBA. Kabengele has been out of college for 5 years.

6 years x 30 teams = 180 times an NBA team could have signed him and played him rotation mins.

I wouldn't fixate on that 1 season with the Celtics.

Bottom line, just because a guy is big and looks kind of good in SL, that doesn't mean we should go gaga for him.

Not gaga for Bassey, and have nothing for or against Kabengele. He had a chance. Just want a big off the bench that can do something in an NBA game. We have a dearth of those remember?

I'm in the camp that wants to see the team stay competitive this season. I expect Brad will make another move and will look for a big. If that's the case, Bassey could slot in for a few minutes a game if healthy as a backup. The things he did today will translate as a garbage man.

If he's Queta-lite, that's fine. I already have more confidence in him than raw rookie Williams, and probably Garza, who has some nice moves but looks like a traffic cone/statue hybrid on D.

I mean, what are we doing here? Bassey was the only big in the game who showed any ability to guard a pick and roll, was the only big in the game who knew how to set a proper screen, was the only big in the game who actually knew where to roll to the rim or how to sit in the dunker spot to position himself for rebounds. Amari Williams picked up three charges in a single game because he’s got no idea what he’s doing yet

I think Amari was 23 on the Hal board... no, maybe that was Bogoglubnic Markovicivowski  .

Seriously tho, I watched some of Bogo's game last night. He might be very good in a few years, but looked really lost out there at times, a step behind, like most young second round picks do when they get a taste of playing in a league where all the players are like the best they faced in college.

That's OK. It takes time for most of these guys. Even a 23 years old 5 year player. Let Amari develop in Maine.

Hal's draft anaylsis is a valuable addition to this board, imho. Rooting for our favorite rookies is one of the best parts of the game when your team is not actively in the championship hunt.

Now maybe we'll get a chance to debate about Hayden Gray in the next game...
