I Watched a few minutes of it once out of curiosity , so no. Do you think the Celtics are going to make a big move this offseason , and who do you see them targeting ? .

The Celtics should be going after real stars/ difference makers such as Kevin Durant, Cousins, Davis, Griffin, Harden, Westbrook etc. Plus I don't think Butler will be able to recruit another star player here.

You could make the argument that Butler is the best 2 guard in the NBA today. He's a bigger, better version of Bradley that can create his own shot and get to the rim

I understand your concern but I'm very high on Butler personally.

Don't get me wrong , I think he is a very good player , an Allstar to be exact . I just don't think he is a star player at least for now.

OT but that's a classic movie. Def watch it when you have nothing to do one day. Holds up well.

Absolutely. Harden is a superior offensive player but is a complete zero on defense. Butler is right there with Smart and Crowder in terms of defense, maybe better.

Butler is a better version of Bradley or Crowder on the wings. Would be an interesting pick up, because he sorta renders one or both of them irrelevant. Could easily see one or both going out in a package for Love afterwards.

Yeah, the printer scene gets photoshopped/gifed a lot, but when Amare punched the fire extinguisher it really blew up again:

Just a great movie, if you've ever worked in a traditional office environment you should be able to relate, even if you haven't it's still pretty relevant in many ways.

Love and Butler here? I've been feeling pretty low on Love but I would be down for that.

Well one of the two would have to be sent out in return, Bulls would probably want Crowder seeing as they've been starting either Snell or Mirotic at the 3 for most of the season. Obviously we'd rather move Bradley instead.

Davis and Westbrook aren't going anywhere this offseason. Harden too esp. if Howard's leaving. I also don't think Harden would defer to KD as the alpha on the team. Griffin would be my preference over Butler. A guy who works harder than most and hates losing more than anything -- why wouldn't anyone want to play with Jimmy?

If I'm Durant, my line of thinking should be, "okay, I've already tried beating these guys by outpunching them on offense and failed. Maybe the way to take them down is to have crazy, rabid mofo defenders at every position and just enough offense/shooting." Sell him on the defensive core of Smart-Butler-Crowder-[insert defensive center here*], one of the best coaches in the next 20 years, an easier road to the Finals in the East, an ability to upgrade (via incoming picks) if need be, and an owner who isn't hesitant to overspend if it would mean banners. It wouldn't be easy, but if he's leaving OKC, he should at least listen to Danny's pitch.

*Howard on the cheap (although I doubt some stars would like to play alongside him), Bogut, Mahinmi, Biyombo (?); Not too many options here unfortunately.

EDIT: You want as many two-way players as possible, not necessarily superstars, alongside Durant. This is why I would prefer John Wall as the Celtics starting PG over IT (but IT's contract is obviously a bargain with his current production).

Jesus Christ dude. Let Howard go. He is never coming here. Ever. I repeat: Dwight Howard will never be a Celtic. And in a Durant discussion? Durant, Mr. Christian good values, called Howard a p***y on national television. Sick of this Howard bs. The guy is washed up and the opposite of a Celtic. Also he's pondscum. Freshpond scum. ****.

I do wonder if we could snag Mahinmi? Probably not.

Agree about everything else though. Sadly, I don't think Durant has your rational thought process. We can only hope.

Butler is a far superior player to Harden. Harden might date reality stars, and if that is the kind of "star" you are interested in, then fine. That is not what wins. Ever. Butler plays hard, plays defense, wants to win. He would fit in with team like peas and carrots.

The Celtics pitch to Kevin Durant should be

- We think you're a great player, and could be the missing link in us winning a championship .

- We're a championship driven organization . Look at our rafters. We have the assets to build a championship team around you .

You're going to be the face of our franchise , and going to be marketed at such . You play in a very big market in Boston and thus going to respected and going to go down as one of the Celtics Legends. If that doesn't convince him , nothing will .

If by some miracle the celtics acquire butler then you stand pat for another year. Look to move the 2017 pick for a guy to compliment Butler and then a free agent will have to seriously consider us. That pick comes in the top 3 and you look for a big man, Favors from Utah would be my top choice

Butler over Harden all day. I'll take the guy who's one of the best defenders in the league and still gets 20 over a guy who gets 25 and is one if the worst defenders

This works for me too. I prefer Favors over any of the centers going into FA this summer.
