Jaylen had a horrific start which created a hole he will probably not climb out of statswise. But he's played much better as of late

Still not hitting the 3 or FTs.

FTs are getting better and the 3s will come. He's too talented to stay down for too long.

No they aren't. He's in his 3rd year hitting in the .600s on FTs and in his last 4 or 7 games he's at 8/14 for a .571 average.

I think they should be getting him a lot more open shots. Move the ball around and let him hit a few open ones. This dude should obviously be the taking the 2nd or 3rd most shots on the team if we want to be as good as we should, but if he's not comfortable forcing it right now we need to get him involved with some easy ones.

I'm normally optimistic especially when it comes to the Celts but man I am scared **** that he's never going to get back to allstar form. If he doesn't his contract is gonna be a massive hurdle to #18.

I am so happy for Gordon. This game should get his confidence way up. And I believe his problems are mainly about his confidence after that injury.

Can you blame him? He leaves the team he's been with his whole career to join his college coach as a heralded free agent, he's been improving season by season, and gets hurt in the first game, then watches the team flourish without him, comes back after a year of grueling rehab to see the team struggle with him, has to go back to the bench, and can't finish anything in the paint because he's got no lift. Who wouldn't be depressed in those circumstances?

He's not all the way healthy yet, but he's never played with serious offensive help before and I believe him about the time on the sidelines helping him to see the game differently, because I can't think of a smarter offensive player on the Celtics in the post-coach-M.L.-Carr era.

You've got Durant, Kawhi, then Giannis/Lebron as 3.5/4s, Paul George, and I think of Jimmy Butler as a 2, but you could count him as a small forward - and I guess you'd have to put Doncic up there long-term.. So you're talking a player who's still getting better, recovering his athleticism and rounding into the prime of his career as an all-star tier, arguably top 5 player at his position.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Three days before his 30-point outpouring against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday, Gordon Hayward was red and furious at the Boston Celtics' training facility in Brighton.

The Celtics were embroiled in one of their toughest practices of the season, and they were poking and prodding at Hayward -- "fouling him and s---" as Marcus Morris put it.

"He just got red at one point," Morris said. "He was really upset. He was going really hard."

The catalyst (predictably) was Marcus Smart, according to Morris. The Celtics' chief instigator got tangled up with Hayward, and Hayward was quietly boiling.

The results were eye-opening. Brad Stevens said the practice let him know Hayward had a big performance was coming. Kyrie Irving said he knew Hayward had "that ticker inside him." Morris said Hayward started getting out in transition and dunking in ways the Celtics had yet to see since he joined the team.

"Any time Smartie gets tangled up with somebody, it's good," Morris said smiling.

"I've been waiting to see that side of (Hayward) for a little bit now."

So happy for Hayward. I said on this thread a few weeks ago that Celtic fans will love Hayward in a month or two and they just got a glimpse of what he can do.

What GH did tonight was probably the greatest performance in Celtic history for a Celtic player coming off the bench.

30 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists in only 29 minutes. Amazing game for GH.
