Yeah, I kept saying it, PP's at his best as a 6th man.
Simons and Boucher should start over Hauser and PP.

He can take the last shot, he just forced that first one. That was terrible. He should have passed out, especially to Hauser in the corner.
That’s why the ball has to find JB or DWhite

Down 1, you go for two there, no deep kickouts for three.

I’m not arguing that. He can take the last shot, he just shouldn’t take the 1st one he did. That was terrible, no excuse with all the other options he could have made. Just like anyone else who has done it, JB and JT included, he let ego override the correct play there.

Sure, that’s what you want if you aren’t 6’3 surrounded by 3 taller players! It was a terrible shot with all the kickouts he should have made. Period.

An open 3 is still better than a contested 2, even if it's a 1-point game.
Come on, at the NBA level, it's easier to make an open 3 than shooting a 2 with a defender in front of you.

He was surrounded by 3 players. Maybe he panicked, but it looks like Joe said give him the last shot, so he didn’t think of any outlet except to score the ball. He did excellent by driving in, but that should have been a drive and kick with the way the defense collapsed.

No. A contested two is still a higher percentage make, and there's no guarantee that by the time the pass arrives, that it's going to be an open, uncontested three. We made the right play, just the wrong player making it. Exactly who Nurse would want, the smallest guy on the floor.

Yeah, a contested two would've been better if the player taking the shot was JB.
But since it was PP, the smallest guy on the floor, there was the option of not forcing it and just passing to an open teammate.

Yeah I fail to see how a contested 2 by 6'0 Payton Pritchard could ever be considered a better look than a wide open 3 by Sam Hauser. And I highly doubt that the play Mazz called was to ignore White and JB and say "how about we let Pritchard cook here?"

JB was supposed to get the shot, and Scal roasted him afterwards from not working to get himself open for it.
