Maybe NY will take him but there was a rumor/press report a while ago that the NY Knicks only want Kyrie with KD. If they couldn't get KD, they preferred going after other players.

Lakers supposedly want Leonard/Butler first but if they can't get those 2, perhaps they move on to Kyrie. I think they would be better off splitting the money among 3 different role players if they can't get someone better than Kyrie and the role players are ones that are very good. But at least with Kyrie on Lakers, it would be easy for Lakers to figure out the other types of players that fit. Low usage 3 and D players.

Lakers would be taking huge risk by signing Kyrie to max. If Lebron went down with injury for half a season, they would go down in flames since Davis/Irving/inexpensive players wouldn't be good enough to win many games in western conference.

I am referring to twitter when I type this, not a specific individual on here.

But dealing with Ainge haters is nothing compared to dealing with Kyrie super fans. It drives me up a wall that anyone can blame us the fans, or even the media for Kyrie leaving. Yet I see it a lot.

Irving might've had problems with some players, but the organization including the owners, the FO and Boston media kissed Irving's ass for 2 years and that's how he's repaying them.
Good assessment:

Dont they have just a bunch of low salary guys left on the roster? Where are they creating space?

I thought so too but last night I saw this:

Read on Twitter

And a bunch of cap experts confirmed it's true.

I think now they're shopping cash for some unguaranteed deals like Morey did when he traded for CP, then they sign a max FA or multiple other guys and then trade those unguaranteed guys + low salary guys they have on roster to NOLA or a third team. The only way it fails is they can't find a third team anywhere but we know there'll be someone.

So then they'd have 3 players on their roster? Maybe 4 if they can hold onto Kuzma?

They will have some ring chasers showing up for the vet min tho like Boogie did last year.

The Jeff green and Vince Carter's of the world come to mind

Ainge should administer a psych test the next time he tries to acquire a star player.

Kyrie revealed himself when he left the Cavs. I saw this coming from a mile away, it was like watching a slow-motion car crash.

Ya, he's not good enough for the circus he brings. At least Lebron's drama was supported by a GOAT like prime, but Kyrie's 'just' an all-star, top 20 guy. You cant be as cancerous as you are if youre not a top 5 guy year over year

Yah, in hindsight, leaving a team guaranteed for a finals trip is a really bad sign for who the player is. As was blowing off game 7 of the ECFs that your teammates were battling in. Definitely had my head buried in the sand there.

Yeah. That did annoy me at the time. Thought nothing of it.

That's an Ainge and Brad problem. Ya gotta have a more professional environment.

The Nets don’t actually have a single young prospect worth talking about once they lose DLo. Allen is a great find - but he isn’t a surefire future all NBA player. Unless Nets get KD, I don’t see where signing Irving gets them anywhere unless they turn around and trade him later. With Kyrie they are looking at 5 years of late teen draft picks and NBA purgatory. And if they sign Horford too.....wow.....did they learn nothing from DWill-KG-PP fiasco?
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I thought it was odd that he wanted out of Cleveland but I hate LeBron so Kyrie hating LeBron won me over fairly quickly. In hindsight this isn't all that surprising. This is a guy who wouldn't talk to his teammates during a playoff run.

AAU circuit + colleges kissing his ass while recruiting him + watching LeBron's "leadership".... it's not all that surprising the guy sucks.

I kinda suspected that Kyrie has soured on Brad and in fairness to Kyrie, Brad was bad this year and should take a big part of the blame for why this team imploded. Kyrie, rozier and horford all leaving tells you something about how bad it was and brad is certainly a part of that. You don't take a player of Kyrie's ability and try to make him one of the guys. that was never going to work. brad never established roles and the results speak for themselves. the hayward situation ( perceived teacher's pet) didn't help . jackie MacMullan in her article says brad's decision to play hayward when he wasn't' ready lead to locker room problems. She hints at some things which I don't want to speculate on but you can easily see how Brad playing Hayward over tatum and brown and even rozier would have poisoned that locker room. regardless the deed is done and the bomb has gone off and now Danny and brad have to clean up this mess. Horford leaving is a gut punch. I never saw that coming. But back to Kyrie- if there is a villain in all this its definitely Kyrie. he was a poor teammate and a poor leader. i don't even think you can call him a leader. the last 4 games he played as a celtic tell you everything you need to know. I've never seen a player of his caliber play that badly for 4 games in a row.I don't doubt that he tried but his shot selection, defense and pretty much everything else about his performance in those games was abysmal. it's sad that one guy can ruin a team that had looked so good the year before but there you go. So now we have a clean slate. Brad has to be better and danny has to be better. we need guys who WANT to be celtics. maybe IT has nothing left but at least he wanted to be here. Bring back Kendrick Perkins as a coach or whatever. we could use his fire around this team. brad has zero fire. Perk wouldn't allow any of that BS to go on. Celtic Pride has taken a major hit and we more than anything else we need to get that back. and that cuts both ways; danny has to be more loyal to his guys. not trading tatum for davis was a good start. we have a clean slate so let's go. our luck has to get better because it sure has sucked lately. 1 title in 33 years since the Bird era ended in '86. That's not acceptable
"Now, there's a steal by Bird..!"
