No bigs, let Hayward walk and have 2 rookies.

Honestly at this point maybe it time to move on from Ainge..

I know people love to jump all over Ainge for this, but think there's plenty of blame to go around: Ainge, Pritchard, and Hayward all made decisions that lead to this, a scenario none of the 3 really wanted.

Gordon will not win a title in Charlotte, but his wife and four kids will have everything they will ever want in life. Good for him and his family.

Danny in full damage control

This isn't about what you weren't going to pay him. It's about you being a complete dumbo for losing him for nothing.

And not having the foresight to see that hayward could do this after having this literally happen last year only compounds his stupidity.

It doesn't show how smart you are bro.

Are we even sure the Pacers had a competitive offer (to Gordon) on the table at this point? Doesn’t feel like it now.

Yes. Washburn reported it and is very reliable.

Yup, Washburn doesn’t just make stuff up.

This is an absolute black eye for Ainge and I hope is the nail in his coffin here as GM.

You let your third max guy leave and got NOTHING in return for any of them!

That is beyond a fireable offense. Just complete ineptitude.

No, no, you guys missed the point of my post. I’m sure Boston and Indy were working on a deal.

My question was, did the Pacers even have a competitive offer to Gordon on the table? Were they offering him 4/120? Most likely not. It’s pretty clear what happened here is that Charlotte came out of left field yesterday with a ridiculous offer causing both the Pacers and Celtics to balk.

Maybe the deal was never as close as we thought

He obviously wanted Indy and Ainge misplayed his hand.

If your getting offered 120 or 85 what r u taking?

He got offered over 4 100 from reports i saw last night.

Again, Hayward wanted Indy. Every report said Ainge wanted more than Turner and McDermott. He MASSIVELY **** up. MASSIVELY.

Gordon Hayward wanted out of Boston. Charlotte really Hayward. He definitely wanted to leave the Celtics. Probably has to do with the players, change of scenery, the media, fans Etc

This isn't about "Oh Hayward couldn't pass up the offer"

They had the ACTUAL damn offer last night, and probably earlier. Everyone and their mom was reporting Hayward to Indy for Turner and someone else.

No Charlotte if Danny pulls the trigger yesterday. Fire Ainge. I'm done with him. 17 years, thank you for tut title but this is UNACCEPTABLE

He wanted Indy until the Hornets came with a ridiculous offer, which he probably got yesterday.

He probably got it 5 minutes ago. I'd sign that before I even looked at the name of the team on the contract.

We ain't getting **** from Charlotte. If the option of Cody Zeller is on the table we might as well just lose Hayward for nothing.

I want no part of Terry. I'd take Zeller. He'd be a useful player on our team.
Good assessment:

99% of people were thrilled at getting Turner and McDermott. Danny is just different.

But this is how you lose a championship.

Probably the best thing the Celtics can do is help charlotte clear the 10m and get a TPE.

The question is when the Charlotte offer was made to Hayward. Not sure if we know this, I'm catching up.

If it was made early, it doesn't really matter that Danny tried to be cute because at the end of the day Hayward chose the money. If it was made late, Danny has to take this on the nose with all the cute BS he was trying to pull yesterday instead of taking the bird in the hand

Ainge was the one being ridiculous though. Just take Turner and McBuckets
