Who are the Cs getting back for him?

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like every big man comes with injury concerns these days. Even if we were to trade Rob, who is this iron man backup center out there available for us to get for him?

Celts are done making major changes.

All that's missing is giving JB his extension and the Cs will be officially running it back and the only difference is Smart got swapped for KP.

We know they like Ike Stewart for toughness and shooting potential.

Love Patrick Willians as a buy low - bad luck with injuries and slow to develop so his stock is deflated..

Poku’s a nice role player but injured.

Jerami Grant probably isn’t attainable. For Brogdon and Rob?

Lot of WCJr fans on this board..

Do we really know that the Celtics like Stewart though ? It seems more like an unsubstantiated rumor than anything else. This front office doesn't leak anything so those reports really need to be taken with a grain of salt. Just this week there was zero chatter about a Porzingis trade before it got done. In the days leading up to the draft, the alleged insiders were saying Boston was looking to move up yet when the Celtics were on the clock all they did was trade down repeatedly.

I also couldn't help and notice that Boston actually made a trade with Detroit recently and that it didn't include Stewart. Regardless of how strongly they feel about Stewart if they had wanted to bring him in, that would have been the moment to get it done.

Agree about Patrick Williams. I wonder if they can pry Garuba loose from Houston, he'll look much better in an actual system.

One of the things we handled well this past season was injury management most of our roster was available in the playoffs except for Brogdon that got a freak injury. We have better balance now and good depth to deal with our players health.

Question is how you build around that

Really curious who the other pieces would be they want to add.

Fair to say White is 1000% part of that core and for these two years, also Horford. Prob Rob too.

He and Jaylen played poorly recently in the playoffs but they have shown they can be high level playoff performers.

So that’s a top 6. Really only need two more plus regular season depth.

Thats a pretty big difference. I do think Brogdog probably goes in a 3 way to the Clippers with Orlando involved. Just my guess.

The only other big move I would look to do is a Williams trade.

Such as Dame, maybe Bridges or unrealistic ones like Luka etc. I’m seeing a lot here who would be happy to give him up for two ok to decent players. I think that would be a mistake. I’d much rather JB than a lot of players, but for the love of god JB, accept your limitations and play to your strengths!!

I honestly think JB would accept his limitations if we allowed him too.

He never calls for the ball when Tatum is doing the playmaking.

And he never had issues with any of the PGs doing it when they were good at it like Kemba, IT or hell even when they were **** at it but were good at scoring aka Irving.

Add another guy who is good as Tatum at playmaking and JB will be more than happy to let them handle the rock so he doesn't have to live his worst nightmare over and over again like he had to in Game 7 and can just do what he likes to do... be used correctly and score in massive ways while playing surprisingly great defense against PGs-PFs (even though I know posters here get angry at him about his D).

I’ve seen JB call for it on a number of occasions in the backcourt when it was at the start of a slow half court play. He’s not someone I’d call dumb in real life but he seems like a thinker who likes to ponder over things, not a quick decision maker which is a problem on the court in combination with his ordinary handle. It also makes him an ordinary team defense. It’s like he just needs to get out of his own head. I also think there is a difference between what he likes to do and what’s good for the team. He’s a massive asset if he stuck to his strengths however, but I rarely see a long stretch of games where he does it. I hope this past season has slapped him in the face enough to see the light however.

The Smart trade already made a big impact on the team.

Making more changes just makes it worse.

Why make more trades when the Cs are already more balanced.

Cs definitely have enough Guards and Centers now.

White is an adequate replacement to Smart.

Under Joe, Tatum will still play a lot of Point Forward.

If the concern is another wing, it's time Hauser steps up.

I offer Brown to Cleveland for Garland and then look to move Brogdon for a 3/4 type.

I wonder if the Celtics would have interest in Derrick Rose as an end of the bench guy.

Too big of a change.

Celts lose continuity with that move.

You have a lot of faith in Prichard and Brogdon’s health. Celtics are very thin in the backcourt and at forward after they likely lose Grant.

I would too, but I don't think the Cavs would pick up the phone.
