I'm bored, so I'll comment on this unreliable rumor- if Parker was included in the deal, then it's a no-brainer. I'd take on Monroe's terrible contract for a chance to get Jabari. I think Ainge would too. IT/Bradley/Crowder/Parker/Horford with a bench of Rozier/Green/Brown/Olynyk/Monroe would be pretty nice.

What was the site that old friend(s) puba/aguila (or whatever his two usernames were) worked for post-realGM? International Business Times I'm thinking?

They used some of the same BS tactics that SMT has highlighted--- kinda wondering if they're part of the same conspiracy, or possibly just pioneers of that kind of "journalism."

I bet it's Mike the car salesman and Dan the radio guy running those sites.

Kit Isaiah Bernal of Yibada wrote:Ernest Shephard of the Inquisitr believes Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard Khris Middleton remains a possibility for the Celtics, who have attempted to trade for the 25-year-old before this year's draft night.

Referencing idle speculation from the bottom of the following article, which also contains:
Ernest Shepard of the Inquisitr wrote:The Morning Ledger is reporting that the Celtics and Bucks may have had discussions about a five-player swap. According to this NBA rumor, the Celtics would agree to send Amir Johnson, Jonas Jerebko, and Marcus Smart to the Bucks. To complete their end of the deal, the Bucks would ship out Greg Monroe and Jabari Parker.

Citing as a source:
Jan Erica Francisco of The Morning Ledger wrote:Rumors about the NBA trade now focus on Milwaukee Bucks wanting to trade Greg Monroe. Monroe has been on Milwaukee’s trading block lately but they haven’t found a trading partner yet. But the Boston Celtics seems to have taken notice of Milwaukee’s trade offer.
...
The Milwaukee Bucks allegedly have decided to be creative with their trade and decided to also trade in another quality player along with Monroe. The rumored player is Jabari Parker.

Citing as a source:
Adrian Lawhorn of the Inquisitr wrote:According to Yibada, the Boston Celtics may now have Greg Monroe on their radar. Reports indicate that Boston and Milwaukee may be discussing a trade that would send Monroe and third-year forward Jabari Parker to the Celtics. In return, the Bucks would receive power forward Amir Johnson, guard Marcus Smart, and forward Jonas Jerebko.

Citing as a source the idle speculation contained in:
Malcom Hyde of Yibada wrote:Perhaps one way for the Bucks to finally trade Monroe is to add a sweetener to the deal. Jabari Parker is a player that many teams covet. He has shown his scoring prowess yet still has potential to get better. While the Bucks place a lot of value on him, he is not at all untouchable.
...
A trade sending Monroe and Parker could elicit a package of Amir Johnson, Marcus Smart and Jonas Jerebko. It helps alleviate the positional logjams of both teams at least on paper.

These two teams are willing traders, and it's likely that they have had discussions between them.

And so it goes full circle (or, out and back, in this case). A family of sites idly speculating, then citing each other, using weasel words and ambiguous speech a la "reports indicate" and "it's likely that", just counting on the fact that almost no one will actually follow the citation chain all the way to realize that there's absolutely nothing there whatsoever.

I do not believe that this is coincidental/innocent. The same half dozen or so sites every day, referencing each other in chains and circles. This truly seems like a group deliberately attempting to manipulate search results, generate traffic out of non-content.

It's amazing that it seems to be working, as many of us seem to be seeing these sites showing up over and over lately.

For fun I called around and no one I consider credible says there are any talks between Boston and Milwaukee. The most I've been able to loosely confirm is that the Celtics have been calling around to gauge interest in their end of the roster guys like Young, Hunter, Mickey, and Bentil. And no one is biting because most of these teams know that at least 2 of those guys are liking coming free in October anyway.

Hunter and Mickey should have some value, as those are the two most likely to stick. Bentil and Young would probably be nothing but throw ins to another deal, if anything.

Yibada and similar webpages just put out attention getting headlines to sucker you into their site to blast you with ads and pop ups.

Nah, Ainge f*cked up. Too many picks, traded Deyonta+ (could've picked Zubac) for a future 1st, but still a roster crunch.

Young gets cut and is out of the league- wasted pick. Bentil gets released and we hope he stays with us in the D-league. Kind of minor moves that can come back to haunt you, if Hunter busts and Young goes somewhere else and grows up.

Minor moves that were not made will not hurt us. We got Horford, great move. If we can get one of the Sixers centers without giving the 17th pick and smart I will be happy.

You are complaining that he screwed up by passing on Zubac and then complaining that there was a roster crunch in the same breath. Makes no sense.

There are a lot of people that seemed to want the Celtics to pick eight great prospects, not realizing that keeping eight rookies would've meant losing lots of other players. Ainge did really well I thought to get three promising stash players and move two of those second-rounders into the future. Zubac wouldn't have agreed to be stashed, right?

Ideally we would make a trade for another big. The roster is decent but still unbalanced

Those things aren't mutually exclusive- he could've made deals and maximized the value of the second-round picks. He didn't. 31 and 35 could've been Deyonta Davis or Zubac at 31, Patrick McCaw at 35..

I'm not saying that's easy- but that's the high bar. He didn't clear it. It's difficult. It's like complaining about someone missing a game-winning three-pointer from half court at the buzzer. Good, safe, stash picks in the first round, a crap shoot in the second. Could've gone much better.

Young/Hunter/Jerebko, would that match salary for Monroe? Would be an interesting move, even if we need shooting just as much as Milwaukee does.

Looks like Rudy Gay is angling to be traded. He basically just told the Kings he will opt out and not resign next summer.

Yeah I am not advocating for a gay to Boston move. Won't happen. Just saying the Kings are going to implode again
