Tacko is gone unless we sign him to the roster, already had his 2 years on 2-way. They didn't mention Fournier at the presser because he's gonna be a FA, they probably still want him.

The playoffs need to end already, I need more action around the league so I can stop worrying about our players so much.

We're at about 140 million in payroll this year, without using the TPE.

Next year, above 150 million - unless we waive Horford, who's only guaranteed 14 million. And that's with Thompson coming off the books.

Use the TPE on Kyle Anderson and we jump up to 150 million this year.. If he gets 15 million annually on his next deal, we're at 165 million, or about 150 if Horford goes. Brining Thompson back for a third year in 2022-23? 160-175 million in salary.

A year later, Romeo and Grant are RFAs.

So we're talking about a top 3 payroll for a 7 seed..

That's assuming you manage to keep Fournier, Smart and Rob and that they all settle for 15 million annually.

Honestly, that's why I buy them moving on from TimeLord and even moreso after this morning's presser, I don't see them re-signing Fournier. I see this being somewhat of an internal bridge year. Assess the team and all of its young talent. Conserve the cap space for next year and 2 years from now and then see where you can add a big piece. Udoka's mandate this year is to put a system around the Jay's the accentuates team ball and gets the best out of them. See what you have in PP, Romeo, and Nesmith and then be prepared to move forward in a year.

They’re going to follow up a losing year with a bridge year? Don’t see it. Fournier and Rob gone? We’d be lucky to make the playoffs.

Fournier could f*ck us, though - we need him, he’s going to get other offers, worst case he costs 20 million even though he was a bad fit.

Ideal off-season:

TPE/Payton for Kyle Anderson
TT for Delon Wright
Ntilikina for three years, last year team option
Keep Fournier, Jabari, Kornet, and Brown, unless Tacko makes huge strides.

Smart/Wright/Ntilikina
Brown/Fournier/Langford
Tatum/Nesmith
KA/Grant/Jabari
Horford/Rob/Kornet/Moses

Length and versatility on the wings, five willing passers and/or facilitators, and a split between finesse centers and rebounders. Flexibility to go deeper into the tax for Anderson, Smart, Rob if it’s worth it, and to trade Fournier if Romeo and Nesmith emerge.

20 million in expirings - 33 if you count Smart - 55 if you don’t keep Horford next summer.

Andrew you're on fire and youre definitely educating me but why are you so high on Fournier talent wise. You seem to imply that he's somewhat of a key signing but I'm not seeing the talent you are. Help me out here.

Edit this was meant for the preceeding post.
I like the players above (would swap some depth position )

Not that high on Fournier, just don’t think we can afford to let him go. He’s capable of averaging 18-20 a night and we need that scoring. Can also handle the ball and pass as a secondary playmaker. Fournier and KA would be a nice recovery with the Hayward TPE, like trading a quarter for two dimes and somehow being richer.

Why would TT be the best Sacro could get for Wright?

A no-brainer if they couldn't, but I think Wright's significantly more valuable than Thompson.

by himself, it's a push I think. That trade potentially helps out each team. Richaun Holmes is a FA this offseason. They could try making a longterm commitment to a middling big, or just trade from an area of surplus and get Thompson, who exists in our area of surplus, respectively. By himself, Delon Wright isn't going to fetch a ton. This is actually a smart deal where both teams win, which thereby immediately disqualifies it from happening in real life.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

He handled that question very well. I'm sure he's had time to refine the answer, but still, well done.

there was a moronic question if boston "prioritized a minority hire"

also hinted that there might be a lot of movement.

Eh it wasn't that it was more or less asking if the players had been consulted on Ime's hire.

It's only moronic in that OF COURSE THEY DID.
Regardless of ethnicity, I like the head coach hire.
