I admit that was tasteless to make light of an injury….. but I was responding to you so having no taste or class is most appropriate.
As far as the Nets playing well this season - I said from day 1 the Nets best play was to keep the team they had together because it was a legit contender when healthy (I expected more from Simmons to be honest). I still stand by my contention that KD at age 34 has slipped and is not good enough relative to the rest of the league to will a team to the finals single handedly like he almost did 2 years ago. Brown is exceeding what I expected when we hashed out this trade this summer and KD is playing exactly as I said he would ….he is breaking down a little just as I said…..and he will come up short in playoffs just as aging superstars on the barely perceptible decline always do.
He’s breaking down to the point where’s playing at an mvp level and one of his best seasons ever…….
If he comes up short in the playoffs - like an ecf or a hard fought 2nd round out that’s a testament to how good he is not because he failed.
Like last year we will see what happens when he misses games. Last year they fell apart entirely. Btw who wills their team entirely to the finals? Jordan didn’t even
Kevin Durant age 32 does…..but luckily for the Bucks his toe touched the line. Unfortunately for all of us fans, 2 more years and 2 more knee injuries has brought him down from best to merely top 5. Kind of like Larry Bird in 1988. It’s simply why not one team in NBA offered up a Jaylen Brown caliber player to get him after Nets used Woj and Sham to try to drum up interest.
Lots of great players have great seasons in their twilight years. Larry Bird 1988 comes to mind. It’s simply why you don’t trade 25 years old stars for 33 year old superstars.
No no one wills their team to the finals alone….not bird, not 32 year old KD, not lebron, not curry, not Giannis. It doesn’t happen. And it’s exactly why no team in the nba offered up a Jaylen brown talent except the team with Jaylen brown…..
