@BobbyMarks42: As @EricPincus noted. The Nets gain the Full ML back. Have 2.4m left. Don't they will use since the goal was not to be a repeater team.

Nets somewhat capped at this point it appears.

The Celtics(second best team in the East at the end of last year) with young players who "should" get better see a big drop? Teams like Atlanta, Toronto, and Washington did not look good for large portions of the end of the season, and are just as much capable of being lottery teams as Boston.

This is my power ranking for the eastern conference teams.

Cleveland
Chicago
Miami
Indiana
Milwaukee
Detroit
Boston
Toronto
Washington
Atlanta

Atlanta takes a step back without Carroll, he's an important part of that team last year. Washington without Pierce lacks the swagger and Porter is he ready ? Toronto, cant take them serious anymore with that pathetic series against Washington, Carroll is a nice addition but he's a product of the system in Atlanta and not sure he's going to be as good there.

Indiana might be a little overrated by the media because PG is back. Ellis will help with scoring from the SG position, Turner is really good and I think he's going to be an all star, but he's a rookie. Hill was signed there because of the hole Hibbert left. Not sure if he was their guy from the beginning. The other teams, Detroit, Miami, Milwaukee improved, the latter lost some depth (zaza,Ilyasova,Dudley) to get Monroe so I think they'll stagnate abit, finish 5-6 seed. Detroit might pass them because their roster is balanced and good. Chicago stay the same, new coach lets see how that goes but I think they'll be good. I think Boston will be better, we only lost Bass, while adding 2-3 good rookies, I think 2 makes the team, Rozier and either Hunter or Mickey. Lee and Johnson are great additions.

I think the 10 teams above will fight for the playoffs.

Charlotte
New York
Brooklyn
Orlando
Philadelphia

Charlotte is going to suck, they look like a treadmill team with their acquistions this summer. I'm not sold at all on that team. New York looks like a rag tag team tbh, Melo might not be the same again, just don't think they're making the playoffs. Orlando is Orlando. Sixers stinks and Brooklyn...please just suck, i'm rooting for you guys.

That mock draft makes me say . . . "GO BEARS"

Western conference power rankings.

GSW
Spurs
Rockets
OKC
Clippers
Grizzlies
Pelicans
Jazz

Teams above are serious playoff contenders.

Kings, ( no mans land ) but tons of talent added. Rondo, Koufos, Belinelli, WCS, Cousins, Gay, McLemore, Butler.. Lets see

Teams below: If the Suns hadn't gutted their roster to make room for LMA I would have put them in the upper tier. Teletovic isn't enough. Mavs with Deron will be close but miss the playoffs. Lakers are like Knicks West, rag tag team.

Out of the lower tier teams I just hope the Twolves can manage to fight to win the "meaningless" games, I think the Lakers will tank hard at the end of the season when their playoff hopes are diminished.

Suns
Mavs
Lakers
Twolves
Blazers
Nuggets

Nets buy out Deron Williams.

Using the stretch so only $5.5 million against the cap. Not sure if they have any room.

The stretch slightly limits the room they'll have with which to improve in future seasons.

I can't figure out if the cap increase makes the stretch stupid or brilliant. More likely it makes it not matter much either way.

Current Vegas odds show only Philly and Charlotte as teams that are worse than Brooklyn in the Eastern Conference. See link. And these odds have not been updated since Wednesday, OR BEFORE the Nets bought-out Deron.

http://www.vegasinsider.com/nba/odds/futures/

Anything can happen, but this Brooklyn team has the potential to be really bad.

Offensively, they lost Deron, Plumblee, Anderson, and Teletovich. Who replaced them from a scoring perspective? Who is going to score? Lopez, JJ, Young, and Jack. Who else? Who can score on their bench? Jack is loosely included here and Young is a very inefficient scorer. JJ is old and Lopez is an injury waiting to happen. Outside of JJ, where is their 3 point shooting? Wing scoring?

Is this a good defensive team? No. Is it a good rebounding team? No.

BEST case for this team is a fringe play-off team, and that is a large stretch.

If Ainge's offer to Charlotte for the 9th pick in the 2015 draft included the 2016 Brooklyn pick, MJ may regret his decision for a long time. I hope it gets publicity as the Celts pick in the top 5-7 next year.

Bojan Bogdanovic can score. But isn't much of a defender. And I believe he is not much of a creator and I don't think Jack can get him the ball as well as Williams could.

Someone please find out what Billy King's number is. We may have to retire his number into the rafters if he helps get us a few top 3 picks
