I may go cold turkey from the internet these next 4-5 hours to evoke a time travel state in anticipation of good news. I never use twitter, but I keep eyeballing the same few tabs. Y'all make the experience bearable, but, man, this waiting game. Hope Riles didn't do much damage in what seems to be a brief meeting.

I hear by submit "The Green Reaper" as the official KD nickname should he sign here tomorrow.

Tell me that doesn't have a ring to it...

Obviously his/her name is Kevin or Kevina.

As a classy man, he's going to end this relationship in a classy manner. Probably going to bring Chris Harrison from the Bachelor with him. Hope someone takes a photo with a rose sitting on the ground in front of the OKC execs.

I think 165bows deserve higher on this list and to be on a tier all his own. Given my long winded posts and the cases I have made for KD signing with the Celtics, I deserve higher as well but significant points off for me since I lowered the Celtics chances after OKC did better than expected and GSW blew it. But I truly did probably nail the final 3 contestants(OKC, GSW, BOS) in the KD sweepstakes. I was hoping Boston entered the sweepstakes with OKC looking worse and GSW having one the championship kind of taking them out of the picture.

165Bows with his continuous optimism does deserve to introduce KD in his first Garden game and get front row seats!

Now if Miami somehow wins out, I deserve to move to last place.

I'm a made man on here if KD comes to Boston, I've been in on this since 2013 lol.

I haven't been to many games lately since I've got a couple young kids and just am not getting out much right now. But I did get to see KD in maybe 2009 sitting directly behind the Celtics' bench, whatever the last year was before OKC got good. Was close enough to reach out and grab Ty Lue's shoulder.

I've been on board the KD train since 2013 as well. If health wasn't a concern, I did like Greg Oden slightly more than KD in 2007 but back then I thought KD would be a top 10 player in the NBA. IMHO Oden would have been an absolute beast and probably better than I even expected if he had stayed healthy and avoided the alcohol. How often has a freshman outplayed two future NBA lower tier all-stars that are significantly older? Oden did that in that championship game but unfortunately he suffered a huge injury before playing an NBA game.

I have been stalking KD since 2013 as well. Obviously 2007 was all about Oden/KD and I would have been ecstatic with either. I believed enough in KD/Oden back then that I would rather have had both of them in 2007 than KG who I was stalking since pretty much that Joe Smith fiasco. My entire trade PP/KG trade suggest in a Nets like move was really was about getting a lot of young all-star caliber of talent and tons of picks to rebuild with. KD was the first FA of substance that I really wanted on the Celtics. I just wanted the Celtics to have a better backup plan if they lost out on KD but I for sure wanted them to go all in on the guy. And Ainge obviously has since he didn't sign any long term contracts like Dragic.

I would sign Horford since the Celtics didn't have much other choice but in the absence of KD it isn't a great move. With KD, it is obviously a beyond great move. A flat out no brainer.

Thank ***** the Kevin Love trade didn't happen. That would have been a disaster that probably killed the Celtics chances to sign KD. I was never really on board with moves like that and hated all of the trade for Carmelo Anthony suggestions. Just thought the assets were better off used in another way.

If Boston loses out to OKC or GSW, I can live with that. Clearly the Celtics are being strongly considered. Very strongly IMHO.

If Boston loses out to Miami, this whole league is a joke.

More on that here: http://www.normantranscript.com/sports/kevin-durant-s-biggest-risk-in-signing--year-deal/article_0b2997b8-4139-11e6-bb4d-bb2be360555a.html

I thought he was going to sign a 1+1 regardless of who he signed with?

That's possible, but due to lack of bird rights whoever else signed him would have to retain cap space to resign him at the maximum amount.

There is one final scenario: Durant signs a "1+1" elsewhere in 2016, then re-ups with his new team on a four-year deal in 2017. However, doing this actually costs Durant a good deal of long-term money. Due to an odd quirk in the CBA, Durant's new team would need cap space to sign him to a full maximum contract. If they don't have cap space, the team can only sign him to a four-year deal with a first-year salary that's up to 120 percent of his $26.6 million salary in 2015-16.

He is a loyal dude. Makes sense that even if he's leaving OKC, he'd meet with them again for the final time to hear them out/tell them he's leaning elsewhere in person. Or maybe I'm just in denial.

Too funny!
