It's more on Josh Jackson's agent, BJ Armstrong. His agent is already looking for the next commission on Josh Jackson's rookie extension. Agents make money on contracts. Rookie contracts are set. The second contract means more commission for Armstrong. And he needs/wants Jackson to get playing time to show his skills. Going to Boston may mean a lot less playing time for Josh Jackson compared to Phoenix. Plus I get it. Ainge isn't committing to even keeping the 3rd pick. He's still trying to unload it to Indiana and or New York. So Armstrong doesn't want Josh Jackson to be in limbo for a few weeks if Ainge is going to trade the 3rd pick (now Tatum).

The NBA draft is over, but the trades can still happen (look at Andrew Wiggins in limbo in 2014 after the draft)

It appears the incident with that woman isn't an outlier type of behavior

That basically means "spend the year rotting in the G-League".

Yes he's the 6th wing behind

This kid was stupid enough to think the lakers were going to pick him at #2. What a dingus.

I don't really understand how people can accept and defend this kind of behavior from a prospect. If I was interviewing a guy for my company and flying halfway across the country to meet him and then he cancelled the meeting without a good explanation there would never be a second chance. And this has nothing to do with personal feelings, it's just that I would never have a guy with that lack of character working for me.

As I said earlier. Its a job interview and being a douche does not get you the job

It's not a job interview. It's a talent draft. I understand what everybody is saying about his conduct during the process. I don't agree with people trying to be Gerry Callahan and assassinate the guys character for one mistake. The point however is if he happens to be much better than Tatum does any of that stuff really matter. Would you rather have Jared Sullinger because Draymond is an A-Hole?? Not the great example but the point remains.

All that matters now is how they perform on the court. Some have different opinions than others. But if you trade the #1 pick and the #4 pick is a stud. Nobody is going to care he skipped a workout. They will just blame Danny.

No problem. You got a player who doesn't want to be there. Same as would be here.

Difference is, your Suns have zero chance of being good while the Cs will be motoring along. Think he is gonna work out in a place that A) Doesn't want to be there and B) is on a losing team?

Get back to us in a year or two.

Damn, a coordinated 3 pronged roasting for that guy. I don't think he'll be back.

Some thoughts:

1. Ainge has said that the top guys in the draft were very close on his board. He also said that Jackson's lack of cooperation didn't affect his rating of Jackson very strongly. No evidence we have contradicts either of those claims.

2. Taken together, those claims allow for the possibility that Ainge's ratings of Jackson vs. Tatum flipped based on Jackson's behavior.

3. Presumably this was all driven by Armstrong. Jackson should not be blamed, as a young man, for hiring a bad-guy agent.

4. However, he is responsible for following the agent's advice, and especially for not apologizing afterwards, let alone for not firing the agent afterwards.

5. Jackson is certainly responsible for his tweet, for any lies he tells, and so on.

6. If Armstrong bribed Jackson to be his client, that would explain both why Jackson hired him and also why Jackson is not throwing him under the bus now.

Let me ask you something: why do you think job interviews for high level positions are made? Because theoretically you already know someone's curriculum and body of work when interviewing...

You don't know what you're talking about bro. His behavior is unacceptable regardless of whether he's an athlete or not. It shows a lack of character on his part, which reflects who he is off the court. Selfish. If he's willing to do that to a team who flew cross country to watch him workout, he clearly doesn't value other people's time.

It goes back to the "mistakes" he made at Kansas. This is who this kid is, and there's no real debate on that. He's a selfish prick, who, at the very least, makes very poor decisions off the court. Hiring BJ Armstrong would be one of those decisions. Instead of just saying it's his agent's fault he should be held accountable for who he hired as his representation.
