well done, yes i think that Minny would be into that as well.

This is to notify you that you've all been traded to the Minny board, clear out your lockers immediately.

Dieng is good! Will make less money than Bradley+Crowder combined over the next 4 years.

Take it to the trade board, see what the populace thinks.

What about:

Minny gets: Bradley, Crowder, Jackson

Boston gets: Dieng, 2018 first rounder (from OKC, lotto-protected).

Thibs gets two guys who fit perfectly into the type of ball he likes to play.
We get a big with some promise, and a pick likely to be in the teens.

I like the premise not sure about the specifics.

One thought I had and this always tough in the aftermath of one of these situations but to call Utah and be like we are going to have to make a deal anyhow, how about we make Hayward a S&T and you get the TPE from our cap space and we send you Bradley and Crowder for Favors?

Have always been a Favors fan and my understanding he's fallen out of...favor, in Utah. I'd be all over this.

Nah, we'd want to get KOQ back at a minimum with any deal with NYK.

Lee + KOQ + TPE + 2nd for Bradley + Crowder + Smart

All right RealGM's. Who do we trade and for what, I think it needs to be Avery Bradley, we clearly are not going to spend the 15 mill plus a year he is going to demand on the open market and we should be able to get some kind of decent return like a non lottery future first for him. Jaylen and Marcus can play 2, Hayward can slide over there some as well. Crowder has trade value as well, but he is under a great contract for a while and brings toughness, I hate to give up on smart, and just Rozier does not get us there. What do you think we should do?

Well, we definitely have to get Creative.

We may need to trade Crowder for a TPE and (as if we need it) a pick.

Edit:
Or Bradley. Both are underpaid. So, we won't get a good amount, in the way of trade.

No trade exception we need cap space. Bradley to PHI for Okafor should create 3.8 mil in cap space (it looks like we need 2.7 mil).

I can get with that.

Let Okakor Start, while Žižić matures.

Keep Smart. But I hope Ainge and Zarren are creative, because I can think of a ton of options to trade and shed salary, but fewer to get another all star by trade after that.

Bradley, Mickey, and Jackson for signed Dedmon? Keep Smart and Crowder.

I love AB, but I don't love the idea of paying both him and IT their due next season.

For what it's worth, a couple Minny fans seem to be all over the Dieng idea:

(Posting before I check whether somebody else has made the same point.)

No usable TPEs from exactly these transactions. We need to renounce any TPEs to clear the cap room to sign Hayward.

Do you think Dedmon would take the $3M+ less than that outgoing salary? Roughly $8.5M or so? He's unrestricted, so might be able to get more than that.

Interesting.....Hayward reminds me of John Havelcek....

Does anyone remember who the very first "sixth man" was?

Hondo.....

Wouldn't surprise me if Brad uses Hayward in this way....

Actually, Frank Ramsey was before Hondo.

Wishful thinking. Depends on the market. If teams are running out of cap space, he might go for lesser salary on a potential contender.

Yep, I'd like that if it came true. Problem is I keep thinking of these level players where they salary they get is more than Jae or AB alone, but they're not good enough to give up both for.... Green from MEM, Dedmon, etc. Not sure what you do to balance those out. Guess you gotta go for some in Smart or Rozier's draft class on a cheaper contract with just one of them. Will have to scour later...

lol, think DAL would take Jae back for Powell and a future pick?
ETA: Not really serious about this. Just saw him in the draft list. Though if the pick was in a few years and unprotected....

Dunno how available they are -- Cauley-Stein, Willie Hernangomez, and Holmes from Rozier's draft class.

Slax wrote:Man I think a lot of posters on this thread are missing that as things stand right now, Crowder is our starting power forward. We simply don't have enough big men on our roster right now to give up a guy who can play small ball power forward, and we will still probably need to add more big men even if we keep him. I think we can probably afford to give up Smart or Bradley even though they are better players because we're pretty stacked with guards between IT, Brown, and Rozier, though we will obviously need to add another point guard if we trade Smart. I guess between the three, I think we probably get the best return for Smart even though he's a worse player than Bradley because he's cheap, young, healthy, and an RFA instead of UFA. Which barring another trade would leave us starting IT, Bradley, Hayward, Crowder, and Horford with a bench of Rozier, Brown, Tatum, Green, Zizic, and whoever else we can sign for cap room MLE and vet minimum.

I'm all in as Crowder at PF for big stretches. I wanna see that IT/Brown/Hayward/Crowder/Horford lineup get some serious run. They still need to get another legit big or two on this team, but I'd be in love watching Crowder, Hayward and Brown all on the floor together. I'm not realistically trading him for anything. I guess I'm a Bradley hater but I don't think he has a huge impact on this roster so I'd be happy to see him traded to clear salary. Hopefully they can get something back like a good defensive PF/C.

What improvements. Hasn't gotten better in 4 years and is up for a contract. The most likely scenario is Smart for a second rounder.
