There's a hierarchy. I'd rather lose to a bad team than someone like Toronto or Washington. GSW blowing us out also would've been annoying.

"Showcase" time for Nerlens Noel?

Or will Carlisle keep him chained up firmly to Cuban's doghouse?

Any chance Danny (via the DPE) takes pity and decides to rescue the abused and lonely animal from his plight while we are there?

I haven't seen Barnes play at all this season and only saw the Mavs games vs. the Cs last season so no idea how much he's progressed from his days in GS. I just looked at their numbers this season and they're awfully close, with Barnes having an edge in assist %, FT%, and points per 100 poss. Outside of context, it seems the production of our sophomore is already better than the six-year wing (he's not Brown's ceiling, but I was just wondering since they're meeting today).

Go compare Brown's stats to Jimmy Butlers this year. Awfully close

That wasn't a very deep thought. Would have expected him to say it's exceeded all he could have hoped for society and it has allowed him to reach a greater plane of existence. We badly need a Bill Walton sit down with Kyrie.

Expecting big game from Smart. Seems to happen in Dallas and OKC often.

Going for 16 straight wins with the Karate Kid memes. Let's beat Cuban's scrub team tonight.

The first 5 headlines on nba.com is all about the Celtics. Boston is currently running the sports world with the Celtics and Patriots red hot right now.

Yep. "Oh, we just weren't trying against those bums" as opposed to "oh, no, maybe we're not as good as I thought!"

So I know dunks are considered top highlights.

But what is this come to a stop Fred Flintstone twinkle toe thing Jaylen Brown is doing?

He needs to remove that. That slow down is just asking for a LeBron, Draymond Green, Anthony Davis, Greek Freak, ect. chasedown block.

Never been a Barnes fan, myself.

Brown's development from Year 1 to Year 2 is insane. His trajectory is straight up.

His shot is nice, his finishing is nice, his handle is tighter. He just needs to fix his FT shooting and improve his passing, and he's a pretty complete player. Obviously there's work to be done across the board, but he just turned 21.

I think we need to be a bit careful on Jaylen. I'm pleasantly surprised by the expansion of Jaylen's game this year but he has a LOT of work to do. He's not that efficient overall. He doesn't make anybody better on offense and he's pretty much a non-passer. Plus he needs to learn to run PNR. These are multi-year initiatives for him. On the upside, his defense looks like it has a chance to be all-NBA status in a couple of years.

Agreed 100% on his future development items. Would also add in improving upon his finishing and FTs.

Disagree on him not making teammates better— I think he provides good spacing, cutting and rebounding. He’s also a terror in transition and always looking to push it up the court which helps create good looks. He can get much better [especially at passing], for sure, but I think there’s a reason that the team is +14.5 per 100 possessions when he’s on the court compared to when he sits. And it’s not only his defense.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying. I'm thinking more specifically creating shots and opportunities for teammates while in possession of the ball. He is largely a black hole right now.

Hope we win this one, Smart has a good game from inside the arc, like 3-5 or 4-6, and Jaylen gets 18 or so, with three or four elegant makes on iso plays, with pull ups, post ups, and a dunk or two.

It would also be nice to see us play with some rhythm on offense again. And we can hold Dallas under 80 points easy.
