Wanamaker and Ojeleye are solidly mediocre deep bench guys who filled their roles on a team that was supposed to be a contender. I just don't see the point of carrying them on this year's team.

Love Edwards. He has a quicker release than Eddie House.

Does Max Strus have photos of Danny? Why is he on the team ? He did nothing to stand out in summer league and was a non factor again yesterday. I get that he’s supposed to be a good shooter but I’ve seen zero evidence of that so far and don’t understand why Danny rushed out and signed him to a 2 way deal. As far as I can see Green or Fall are way more valuable than Strus

I hope Langford is a player because right now he has the look and feel of a bust and that would be another blown first round pick by Danny . I really think that Danny and Austin need to step back and let others draft

Carsen and Grant look like they can contribute from the get-go. They already play roles no one else on the team does for us so I'm expecting they make the regular rotation.

The problem is that even good late first/early second picks rarely are that good in their first year. Rondo, Powe and Baby were okay, for example. But AB, Rozier and Perk were borderline unplayable.
We did have the one amazing 2004 draft, where Big Al, Delonte and TA were all decent contributors as rookies on a middling playoff team but we haven't had a single non-lotto draft class be so quickly productive since.

I can see some similarities between Grant and Sullinger as far as basketball iq and strength. I also think that bigs might have an easier transition to the league than other positions for the ones that do eventually make it, though that can be me seeing things that aren't there. Edwards has a few skills that could immediately translate, but there's been some warning signs at the other end of the court and with his pg skills that I think he may be further away from a spot than people realize.

Eh, if JT as a physically weak lottery-pick teen could start on something of a contender from say one, the more mature and physically ready Edwards and Grant can crack the rotation on this team. They only have half a dozen players beyond their rookie contract anyway. Sure, Grant needs to nudge Daniel for time, but I expect he'll play some in every game from the start.

These rookies have a lot of talent to bring to the Celtics and strengthening the bench. However, Tacko is a difference maker and there are things he does that are not shown on the statistics charts. Getting playing time for these rookies is important because the management needs to know how to allocate minutes among the veterans and develop the young players for the future. Again Danny Ainge has done a fabulous job.

Semi when he's on defensively I guess 3 and D in situations but I thought he shot meh last year. Wanamaker not so much.

Semi is a 3 and D without much 3.

We get pissy when Smart takes too many 3's. The reality is he shoots them better than Semi. And lets be honest, other than 3's Semi's offense is pretty much non-existent. He needs to really pick up his game, it's difficult to see progress in it, and there are a ton of guys in the organization seemingly with potential waiting in the wings.

Grant Williams has made him obsolete IMO. Green should take Semis spot

I’ll never understand Semis highlight reel I watched the night he was drafted. So many thunderous dunks. I’ve hardly ever seen him be able to string multiple steps together in the pros, let alone any sort of leaping ability.

Edwards shoots the ball like it’s a heat-seeking missile that he has to get out of his hands.

I don't think the Celtics lose much if they end the two-way and give his spot to, for example, Tacko. In fact, exactly that happening is my base case scenario.

Semi's development since being Parade Magazine's High School Player of the Year has been very disappointing. Either that, or giving him that award was totally bonkers. (I don't actually have any knowledge of how he was in high school.)
I say that in part because he was recruited to Duke, didn't do much there, and wound up transferring to a lesser school.

I can see those 2 getting some Rotation minutes.
They absolutely will
There are a lot of guys who seem to absolutely deserve minutes, starting with:
Tatum, Hayward, Brown
Walker, Smart
Kanter
G. Williams and Edwards, as you say.
That's 8 before we get to Theis, Poirier or R. Williams, let alone the late-lottery rookie.

That's only three guards before you get to Edwards.
