Brown and Tatum are playing so well It's hard to believe Danny would move either of them for Harden.

Only thing Danny could really offer is Walker, Smart and some picks but Houston likely has no interest in that.

We will be up against or into the tax next year and likely can't afford to pay Theis even 15/year. In the same way that Hayward's departure allowed Brown to blossom I think trading Theis and forcing Brad to play Time Lord more would be great for the team.

On the other hand who is giving anything of value for Theis? He's an expiring, soon to be 29 year old undersized center. Bird rights don't come with the trade so you would need cap space to sign him in the offseason (unless you can get him for the MLE). We need a team looking to win that needs a center. That team potentially also needs to have cap space next year.

Maybe at the deadline a playoff team will be willing to overpay if their center goes down. But last time we traded a center midseason it didn't work out too well. I feel like losing Theis would hurt more than we think. Although it seems like the refs are not letting him do that pick a seal move anymore which was great last year.

Ok this is bothering me. Who is the last center we traded midseason? Al left in FA, Baynes was traded in the offseason, Kelly left in FA, KG traded in the offseason and it worked out ok I guess.....

Depends on who you reckon as a Center.

If you consider guys like Dwight Powell and Brandon Wright centers (I do, and BBRef lists the plurality of their career minutes as coming at C), then they were both traded away in the '14-'15 season. Dwight Powell went out in the Rondo Crowder trade, which also brought in Wright, then Wright went out a month later for a couple of 2nds, one of which became Semi.

If not, you go back a couple months more to OCT of '14 and we traded Joel Anthony to the Pistons for Will Bynum, who we promptly waived. Nope, that was a couple weeks before the season started.

Jason Collins was traded mid '12-'13 season with Leandro Barbosa to the Wiz for Eastern Conference Player of the Week Jordan Crawford.

Okay, this is fun.

- Jason Collins and Leandro Barbosa were signed as free agents in 2012. They were traded mid-season for Jordan Crawford.

- Jordan Crawford eventually got traded for what ultimately amounted to Joel Anthony and three 2nd round picks. Those 2nds became Jordan Mickey, Ben Bentil, and Deyonta Davis. (Anthony was traded for Will Bynum for cap relief, and Mickey and Bentil were eventually waived.)

- Deyonta Davis was traded with another 2nd to the Griz for the pick that became Matisse Thybulle.

- Matisse Thybulle was traded to the 6ers for two 2nds which became Carsen Edwards and Ty Jerome.

- Ty Jerome was traded with Baynes (who was signed as a free agent) to the Suns for the pick which became Desmond Bane.

- Desmond Bane was traded with Enes Kanter (who was signed as a free agent) to POR/MEM for two 2nds (a weirdly protected one in '23 and an unprotected one in '25).

So, it'll be at the very least until 2025 before we know what the final haul for trading Jason Collins and Leandro Barbosa was.

Ainge better do something to get the J’s some help on the offensive end soon. Just imagine if one or both of them needs to miss some time, due to health and safety protocols. Where would we look for offense then? That would be a disaster. We are blessed that they are playing rather well, that both can carry the offensive load on their own, while the other is resting. Last season we have the luxury of having Kemba and Hayward to ease the pressure offensively. Losing Hayward is huge, since Taegue and TT are rather disappointing so far. We need back up support asap, else the J’s would get burned out early.

don't think losing Hayward has been huge at all. More shots for the Js.

Steph Curry is back and he’s back in a big way.

God he would be so fun here and probably bring a title next to the Jays.

I would trade Brown for Beal if I were Ainge. Dude is a baller. Silky scoring machine. Reminds me of scorers of other eras

No way. Beal doesnt play defense. He cant lead a team to the playoffs in the East. He’s not a winning player.

I don’t think this team is making any moves until they see what they have in Langford. I think much like PP and RW3, they were expecting this kid to be a regular part of the rotation and the primary backup at the wing position. More and more I think that this TPE isn’t getting used until next offseason and they continue to roll with what they have.

When we talk about Harden, we don't talk about defense either. He would improve in here. Wizards have a bad team, tough to win with such a roster.

This team needs to hope Langford can be a scorer of the bench. Looking at the nets it’s ridiculous that they’re competing in those games without Durant and kyrie. They’re gonna be tough if we don’t have some scoring off the bench.

I agree, more shots for them, and Jaylen most especially took advantage. I’m perfectly fine with that, just as long as they both play every game. What happens if one or both misses games? That is the time we will feel the impact of losing hayward. We were one of the most dynamic offensive teams last season. Now, we are too reliant on the J’s for offense. That can’t be good in the long run, especially in the playoffs.

Nah. Langford plays soft, and is a finesse type of player. Plus he’s too injury prone to ever be reliable.

They’re screwed then. The lack of bench production will be their Achilles heel. Thanks ainge!!!!

Jaylen wouldn’t be having this breakout season if Hayward was still here. Hayward leaving was a good thing

Hardens defense is way better than beals tho. That’s how bad beals defense is. He ranked dead last for his position in the league
