Game Thread: Celtics (34-31) @ Magic (21-44) – 7:00PM, Wed. 05-05-21

With seven games left the 4th and 5th seeds are likely out of reach. At this point there are no give me games either with the amount of injuries the Celtics have.

I'm not even sure wins or losses mean much because they're going to end up playing Philadelphia Brooklyn or Milwaukee in the first round.

At this point Id just rest brown and walker and maybe even Tatum here and there.

idk, are the hawks knicks and I guess hornets really that good? So good they couldn't go on a 4 or 5 game losing streak? If we can win 5 or 6 or 7 of the games left we could get the 4 or 5. Then who knows. More time to get healthy. More time to gel with new guy/guys who haven't played a lot. Maybe some injuries on a top 3 team. Getting to the ECF again isn't that outlandish. But every game for the rest of the year is very important.

If we can at least get 2nd round and give some one a hard time and take them to 6 or 7 games it somewhat salvages the season, or at least the season't reputation going forward in the eyes of the league. We got to get the the 5th seed. If we can't beat the Magic well then **** it.

I think teams four through eight are very average in the east. They could go on a losing streak but the reality is besides Charlotte all the playoff teams have been more consistent than the Celtics the last 10 games.

Of course the problem with the Celtics is we literally have no idea what to expect from game to game. They could win the next seven games by 20 or they could lose the next seven games by 20. The answer probably lies somewhere in the middle. I have them finishing with 38 wins which should get them as a 6th seed. 7th worst case scenario.

I just don't see Brooklyn Philadelphia or Milwaukee (quite frankly people seem to be sleeping on Milwaukee) getting upset in the first round. They're just in a different tier then the rest of the East.
