I am not sure it moves the needle but I think Al is a MUCH better fit. C's need a big that can stretch the court and move the ball. Just not the right situation for Kemba with Tatum and JB needing the ball. Can't say I know enough about Moses Brown at this point.

DMurray & Lonzo Ball. Two PG names to keep an eye on.

 I suggested this swap at the deadline, was a no brainer. Seems like Brad felt the same way.

Looks to me like gun-shy Danny was the issue the whole time…

I like it. Lot of people overlooking the last year of Horford's deal is nowhere near what it looks like on paper with non-guarantees. Celtics save a ton of money here and Horford is still a useful big no doubt.

Moses Brown grabbed 19 rebounds in the FIRST HALF against Boston this year. Kid is 21 years old, massive, and is a solid 5 prospect.

Horford had a solid year. He's going to start next season

Who cares

He’s old, has creaky knees and our offensive creators are now Brown, Tatum and **** Smart.

This roster is putrid. It’s like nobody who works for Boston has any idea what is needed to win in today’s league.

Dude. Kemba sucks.

I don’t love this trade in the big picture because early last year Kemba was a stud. However, he was pretty much a non-factor all this year. Al Horford brings versatility and playmaking to the front court and if he has anything left in the tank defensively he is a huge upgrade to PF/C position over Grant/Semi. Moses Brown is a nice pickup. We absolutely need size off the bench and maybe he keeps getting better. I think Smart has earned starting PG spot and backup in good hands with PP. A solid veteran PG who can compete with Smart would be wise. Tristan Thompson or possibly even RW could bring back something good.

Resign Fournier and you can throw out a Smart-Evan-JB-JT -Al lineup ..... that can do some serious damage if Al has another good year of defense left.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Kemba averaged a whopping half an assist more than Tatum this year and just 1.5 more than Brown. With him gone these two have the ball more and can show more to us

I really don't think we'll be missing much from Kemba. Having Horford as a big who can defend, shoot, and make plays will be far more valuable

Dude. Kemba sucks.

I ain’t saying he doesn’t.

I’m bemoaning how far this team has fallen. The amount of talent on the roster is putrid compared to 2-3 years ago.

How it has gotten to the stage where we are paying teams big to take our big contracts is beyond me.

Kemba might have gone to **** but when we got him he had talent offensively. Now we’ve got nothing outside of two players. Neither are natural playmakers either. Putrid, putrid, putrid.

If I’m Tatum I’m already considering where I’m
going next because this franchise ain’t building ****.

He did bring an Ivy League university to RI after all.

Unless we're trading Smart there's no way we can get Ball.
Good assessment:

the first trade is a bad trade, it was impossible to imagine.
We needed the 16 pick and other assets to try a trade up or consolidate it, not to dump kemba, you always will have time and assets in 2022 to free cap space in case a star wants to come here.

I hate this trade, but I really hope it means Al will retire as a Celtic. I love him, and he gave so much for this team.

Btw, glad to have Horfie back. I reckon he'd be motivated and he looked pretty dang great before the Thunder benched him. I believe they did so to tank. He was shooting .400 from 3. And let's not forget he was one of the main reasons we were great on defense and offense. He makes things happen(can move the ball and defend guy smaller and bigger than him).

Just a friendly reminder that Moses Brown is a 21-year old bouncy center that is 7"2!!

Timelord and/or Tristian are likely gone this summer.

Return to Boston Celtics
