No need for tacko when we got juancho this feels borderline wacky to to type but alas I've typed to many letters to go back now!

I like this trade. Get a 6’9 big that can shoot and score. That’s one less undersized pg in our roster.

JUANCHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Woohooo!! i love love love it! We needed a backup 4 and we got a backup 4. Stevens is absolutely KILLING IT this off season! What a steal. This team gave up next to nothing for a quality backup big. Never thought any team would want Carsen. Again, great freaking job, Brad.

Smart/Dennis
Nesmith/Pritchard/Romeo
JB/Richardson
JT/Juancho/Parker
Rob/Al/Kanter/Bruno/Grant

We have an excess of centers but, eh, no big deal. This is a damn good roster and this team has a real shot at the 3 seed.

So we're at 15 players now and didn't dodge the tax? How much over are we? because otherwise what was the point of getting out of contracts and shedding our second round picks and this year's 1st?

Juancho does fill a position of need. At the very least, he will make Jabari earn his minutes. I imagine his arrival could even put Jabari at risk of being cut from the team to free up a roster spot. Both are pretty decent on the offensive end, but who is the better defender? Training camp is less than a month away, so we should start to get answers pretty soon. Is Brad all done now?

We have until trade deadline to go below tax line.

Agreed! I stole your "hitting singles" line in the other thread without realizing it haha.

Juancho was a young guy I have mentioned an have seen mentioned in here in the past as a guy that Danny liked. Danny was rumored to have been interested in him the year he was drafted. This is just another fantastic deal as far as I'm concerned. 25 years old 6'9 swing who can shoot and rebound a bit. Another nice complementary piece for a bench that now looks like an actual legitimate NBA bench. Just cannot say enough about the job Brad and Mike Zarren have done to transform this team from the mess that ended this last season into a group that looks like a solid threat for the 3 seed right now.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

I would play juancho more minutes than Jabari because he fits better with his shooting, though Jabari, can really be good at the perimeter and inside if healthy. I think G.Will will be the guy that really needs to show something.

I agree. Kudos to Brad. He made our team a well balanced one, and we have a deep bench now with reliable vets. Newbies needs to step up their game if they want playing time.

The best part of the trade is G Williams/Parker/Hernangomez will all be fighting hard for playing time. Should bring out the best in at least one of them.

Woo! Told you to look at Memphis as a trade partner here.

Also hilarious that Brad strikes these deals when I’m not thinking about the Celtics at all.

we shed picks last year to avoid the repeater tax. i don't think we shed any picks this year to avoid the tax.

i'm pretty sure we're paying the tax this year, unless brad can swing a big deadline deal.

Was the waive and stretch deadline the same this year (August 31st) or was that date altered?

The only thing I can find is this from earlier this year?

For instance, in a normal league year, August 31 would be the last day for a team to waive a player and apply the stretch provision to his current-year salary. Our working assumption is that deadlines like that one will be moved back by a few weeks along with the rest of this year’s offseason dates, but we don’t know the specific details yet.
