Thanks for the links. There's really not a lot of substance in this overall, a ton of "may haves" and questions and a request for a transcribed interview? I'm really not losing any sleep over James Jordan and Comer casting aspersions on the character of Fauci but I'm admittedly biased as I can't stand either of them. I'm not even defending Fauci all that strongly, I won't believe that corona virus leaked from a lab until there is hard evidence but that's not because I think humananity is above that, it's because epidemics and pandemics have historically developed and followed the same patterns as corona virus and have largely been much more deadly than coronavirus. If it's been genetically modified to be more deadly they really did a **** job of it and that's not to minimize it's actual deadliness, just in comparison with the deadliness of past epidemics. If it leaked from a lab where they were just studying viruses that sucks but the only reason I would really care is to review how it happened in order to prevent it from happening in the future. I just don't believe there is a global conspiracy to cover for a lab in China leaking this.

I want to weigh in on this thread and some of the trouble we're having here. First off I want to thank Parliament. My guy has been modding this thread while the rest of us try to ignore it, and it's not easy. I don't think other team boards have a covid thread, for good reason. It's nearly impossible to moderate. We don't even allow covid debate on the General Board. So as far as I know, the discussion is happening here and on the Current Affairs board, and that's it.

RGM is a basketball site. And the moderators are basketball fans. We aren't experts on covid or vaccines and we have no degrees in science or medicine. So the issue is, people start making dubious comments and linking to dubious sources. Then others start saying it's misinformation. And of course we want to take that seriously and not let our forum be a place where misinformation is being spread.

But this stuff is really complicated, we aren't experts, and we can't spend our day researching the latest data every time a questionable comment shows up. So when the thread starts going off the rails, we mods are over here like "yo how are we the ones who are supposed to be the arbiters of truth on such important and complex issues?"

So it's just a massive headache for the mods (and for Parl in particular.) We aren't putting rules in place just to be dictators about it. We're trying to find a sustainable way to have this thread open for us all to use and enjoy.

So please help us out and give Parl and the rest of us a break. Do your best to moderate yourselves. Before you post something double and triple check your sources. If you're wondering if you should say something, probably just don't say it. Don't attack each other. Etc. We need a community effort here.

I don't think any of the Veritas people understand what they're reading, it's another sleazy and misleading document dump. They're trying to conjure a cloud of suspicion without having the evidence to support it. That's their m.o. The documents I see are about the rejection of gain-of-function research, plus a nonsense letter from The Major.
