Aaron should not play in SL. He has nothing to gain by playing in SL. If he plays well, then people say well of course he would play well, it's only SL and he is a 1st round pick from 3 seasons ago. If he plays just ok, it's not a good look. It's a no win situation for him. If Brad or Ime are asking him to play, then that's different. It's better he take some time off and be around assistant coaches and work on his game that way. Much like Grant last off season.

dude. it's not about what's a good look or a bad look. who cares what people say?

Bottom line, it's year 3 for him. it's a make or break year. he's gotta show this season that he's an NBA player or we're gonna ship him out of town at the deadline just like we did with romeo (if we even keep nesmith here that long).

He needs to play in summer league to:

a) prove to Udoka and Brad that he's an NBA player and
b) get reps that will help his development

That's it. Bottom line. screw everything else..

I'm of two minds about Nesmith and summer league. Yeah, he could use the reps and exposure, but OTOH the team already knows what they've got in him. If POBO and Coach think he's still on a positive development path, maybe it's better to spend his summer working with coaching staff in Boston and figuring out his ... mental block or whatever it is about the shooting.

Next season will be the deciding factor. I think he'll get it figured out, but if not the team can just move on, and I'll continue to get teary-eyed watching Maxey and Bane.

They do?

I still have no idea what he is, if he's gonna take a leap or not, if he's worth keeping on the roster, what to expect from him when he checks into a game, etc.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Not bad! Yam replacement for SL. I recall Bone playing well against the Celtics during some game in ORL this past season. There was some chatter in the game thread like "why can't we get a guy like him?"

Here's our chance to have a cup of coffee with the bone-meister.

Well, there was some story (post game press conf with Nesmith?) that indicated that Aaron was really good in practice but wasn't able to put it together in real games. Thus Ime wasn't confident with him in the rotation, especially since the team dis so well with short rotation Jan - June.

If that's true, then they are planning to give him another year and see if he can be the guy they thought they drafted.

If this is just a story Nesmith is telling, then he may still get a shot early in the season, but Brad has certainly shown he is willing to move on from mistakes, and Nesmith was on Danny's watch. So the hourglass may be getting empty for our young friend.

He played at Tennessee, and was a teammate of Grant Williams.

Yam is by far the better player.

Bone played less than 20 minutes for Zaragoza last year. Struggles from 3 (and 2 lately).

I hate when SL gets bums on the squad - getting playing time from the players that have a chance to make the team (Begarin, JD).

I hope he won't play at all.

But Yam's not coming. Gotta fill put that roster. It's not like the Celtics have some first round picks to show.

I'm not that concerned about Bone tho. More interested in seeing what Davison, Begarin, Trevion W, and Hauser bring.

That's only 9 Players, so far. -- I believe that we can go with as little as 8.
But, I don't believe that there is an upper limit. (I've seen a Squad of 25 players.)

Games are only 40 mins long, with 10 min Quarters. Players get 10 Fouls.
I believe that the Rules are different, after the first 4 Games (aka Final Round).

I have to correct myself about the rebounding, he's actually fine. Also, I've never seen him play, am just going by the stats.

I know. Some folks were really clamoring for this guy a couple years back. He’s a good add to the summer league, maybe even make the roster as a third stringer.

It takes some bigs about three years of NBA experience to start to show. I’m happy he’s getting an opportunity on a good team. Summer league is gonna be fun!

Yes, on his mother's side. I remembered that because I also liked him coming out of Florida State and they make a bid deal of the Motumbo connection leading up to that draft.

He was spectacular in the G-league. Had 8 blocks in one game and a bunch of triple doubles.

He didn't see many minutes in the NBA, but put up good numbers playing for the G-League Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the 2022 G-League champions.

Mutombo nephew, bone and Purdue's passing big and jd and juhan enough for me to be interested. I wasn't pleased on having like six fringe bench players on the roster. Like we knew one third of our roster was tax dodging but now go get vets!!
