He's going to have to find his own "GOT IT!" phrase.

Am I just getting old or does everyone look like they’re 15/16 years old doing broadcasts? Maybe that’s why people aren’t sold on him combined with not being local.

Didn’t Mike have a history of doing college basketball games though beforehand locally? His basketball knowledge was great and he could relate to Tommy. Im sure this kid is polished on the mic, have to wait and see how he meshes with Scal.

Drew, not Jrue, is the missing piece to Banner 18. Don’t any of you ruin the vibes.

Wildly obvious answer these people always over complicating things.

I don’t think that would work. Radio broadcast has to be much more descriptive since listeners can’t see. It’s be annoying to have that much talking on a tv broadcast.

For the national broadcasts, annoying would be a huge upgrade.

So I don’t think we should assume that he got “passed over” for the TV job. The radio broadcast is a pretty good product, and it has to be to get and keep listeners. TV can kind of be whatever and honestly, we’ll watch. Some of us legally!

The fact he was asked to.comment and declined sort of says otherwise. Some believe he was sticking around Boston radio this long because Mike's job was what he was waiting for. If he leaves soon to another gig, we'll know for sure.

If Sean Grande wanted this spot, it would have been his. He put in his time and was very good at calling the tv games last season. Never heard him on the radio, but I hear he was really good at that too.

He did seem gracious which is nice. It is what it is at this point.

Of course privately I’d like to know what happened with Grande. We all long assumed he was next in line, I wonder where it derailed. It will be very telling if he leaves the radio gig soon.

I wanted Donny Whalberg.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

Sort of. My cliff notes version of Scal last night for those who missed it: “I’m fat and wearing a white undershirt under a blazer, and I’m going to totally haze you, rookie!”

Mike and Drew were very professional and gracious towards each other.

I 100% feel Scal's weird tension with people. He was a dick to Abbey Chin a few years ago and I think still has some weird underlying attitude with her. With Grande sometimes you'd get something similar, Grande asks a question and Scal pauses and is like...why did you just ask me that.

I think this kid has to deal with Scal's ego properly and I'd bet the people behind the scenes have noted it. In Scal's defense I think he has gotten better over the years but still...

I like Scal's sense of humor and do not think for a second that any of it is mean-spirited. He's just having fun and trying to get everyone to feel comfortable.

No one will ever stack up against the broadcasts that had Mike, Tommy and Cous all together. That was my idea of heaven.

Honestly think Mike Gorman has checked out since the passing of Tommy Heinsohn. Just hasn't been the same. Gorman said he is looking forward to traveling the world with his wife. Probably the right time for Mike to leave.

I thought he did a pretty damn good job, despite being so very obviously nervous lol.
