We were lucky to win even when Jayson Tatum is not a top 5 player yet. Credit goes to Derrick White and Porzingis for carrying his non-Top 5 player ass.

Does anyone REALLY think Jaylen will buy into the team concept and play like this every night? I’ve seen this movie countless times before and won’t be fooled into thinking anything has changed until the C’s are hoisting the trophy. I refuse to be Charlie Brown to Jaylen’s Lucy and for now he can stick that football where the sun don’t shine. Prove me wrong Jaylen. Bring home 18.

Nice win.

VC goes to White and Al. White was the best player on the floor.

White did it all on both ends. 30 points on 16 shots.

Al with a double double of the bench. He shot well, rebounded great and was really good on defense.

KP was great in the 1st half, then ran out of gas.

Jrue and Tatum were really good. Brown had his moments.

I really love KP in his current role as 3rd banana offensively because relying on him to carry a bigger load likely leads to injury and failure. I love Derrick White - always have and credited him with 2022 turnaround when most of this board claimed he sucked - but he too is perfect in his role as a glue guy who isn’t asked to step up as go to guy every night but can do it and is willing when the occasion calls for it.

If JB has to go ( for reasons the majority posting here suggest that I don’t agree with ) ….. we would still need a legit #2 all star to replace him. Anyone suggesting that KP, DW or JH (and his 52%TS) are capable of being that guy are incorrect. Maybe next year or in 2 years when JT is actually the elite MVP caliber player night in and night out we all think he is destined to become, this will no longer be true and the team can achieve ultimate success with the Butler/Miami model….that has yet to achieve ultimate success.

But for now, having a #2 who believes he can take over a game despite not having that level of talent and having a #1 who at times seems to prefer being being just another guy rather than being THE GUY is going to be frustrating.

Ideally, Tatum will more consistently fully buy into alpha leadership role and own it and Brown will learn to share the ball better. I for one see that this is actually slowly happening.
